Towns being ranked ahead of Okafor should be enough to discredit any ranking service. Towns should be in discussion for #2 center but Okafor is by far the clear cut #1.

It’s not a complaint at all. More of an observation that I’m not so sure about 24/7’s rankings and I’ll be less inclined to value them over their competitors. If you’ve watched Okafor it’s easy to see that he’s the best high school big in the country.

You should start a recruiting service then, if you know more than one of the most widely-used ones

Yeah 247 rankings always seem off in both football and basketball. But regardless. .. GO CATS!

    Harrison, Harrison, Poythress, Towns, Johnson.
    Ullis, Booker, Lyles, Stien
    Hawkins, Willis, Lee

    Depth chart would be sick.

That lineup will make a lot of people crap in their pants. The haters thought we would loose 5-7 players.

I remember interviewing Al McGuire once and ask him what the toughest part of coaching a good team was. He said keeping the five players who THOUGHT they should start from killing the five who WERE starting!

Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but it looks like Lyles dropped 7 spots

Lyles is also no. 17, not no.18. Sometimes I wonder if they ever read their own posts!

I see lots of Sullinger in Okafor. He is powerful and a bull in the paint but those days will diminish after next year (and when he plays Dakari) . Does anyone else see LaMarcus Aldridge in KAT? A true stretch 4. Also, since WCS is the fastest current Cat wouldn’t it be crazy to see Cal have Dakari at the 5, KAT at the 4, and WCS at the 3 occasionally. I really trust Cal on who starts and don’t really care but hope he is open to some true innovative lineups once in a while.

Okafor (might be wrong spelling) is a great player and could be #1 pick next year, but right now he doesn’t make it to all the plays. He has to foul on many plays to get his shot, but the one thing that stood out in a heads up match with Towns was Towns got several bad calls that should have gone the other way. Even the announcers said so. Towns played all over the court disrupting the opponents offense even Okafors which made him angry. 24/7 has that one right. Towns has tremendous upside and Okafor does as well, but his is only down low.

The player ranked way too low is Lyles. That young man also plays everywhere and is a team player.

Glad to see Towns @ # 2 but 247 sports is way off on Trey Lyles, he is a top 6 or 7 player! I think ESPN is more accurate!

One thing that must have affected their rankings was the fact that Calipari signed them. #thekentuckyeffect

Towns is very versatile and can go outside, but everyone saw Okafor abuse Towns repeatedly in the paint. Okafor had 2 monster games, which is why he took home MVP honors in McD and Jordan Brand. He’s ranked #1 by every other service… 24/7 is crap

Max Preps has both Trey Lyles and Karl Towns, Jr on their 2013-14 FIRST TEAM All-American List with Johnson, Alexander and Okafor.

I would say they are moving on up!
