Alex Trebek, the longtime host of Jeopardy! and arguably one of the smartest people on Earth, has died.

Trebek, 80, has been battling stage-four pancreatic cancer since 2019.

Trebek remained the host of Jeopardy throughout his treatments and vowed to keep hosting until he could no longer, keeping his word until the very end.

Despite his life-changing diagnosis, Trebek continued to light up American screens with his wit and charm.

I once had a teacher who met Trebek. The teacher mistakenly mispronounced a word in the meeting and Trebek quickly corrected him and moved on without missing a beat. Icon. When a guy is that smart and yet that kind, you can’t even be mad. What an honor to be corrected by Alex Trebek himself.

Rest in peace, Alex.

One of the good ones. Smart, witty, stoic…. he will be missed.
