Kentucky all-time great AJ Reed was named the California League Player of the Week after hitting .385 with 11 RBIs for High-A Lancaster. Reed hit four home runs in the week, including three in one game against Stockton last Wednesday. The Houston Astros’ prospect drove in nine runs and scored five runs in that game against Stockton. Over the last week, AJ Reed boosted his season batting average to .266 and now has eight home runs and 25 RBIs. Reed is second place in the league in home runs and first in RBIs.
