AJ Reed makes SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays

UK ace pitcher/first baseman AJ Reed has been a bonafide star this season, leading the SEC in seven offensive categories and pitching victories. He also leads the nation in home runs (23) and slugging percentage (.788), and is a favorite for National Player of the Year. In short, AJ is awesome.

Last night, AJ helped the Cats beat Alabama to advance to the second round of the SEC Tournament with this behind-the-back grab of a grounder on the mound, which was good enough for #7 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays of the Day.

In about fifteen minutes, UK will face number one seed Florida in the double-elimination second round. You can catch the game on CSS or ESPN3. We’ll let you know the results as soon as its over.

Go Bat Cats. Go AJ.
