Former Wildcat safety A.J. Stamps was waived by the Cleveland Browns last night. Stamps was cut to make room for Josh Gordon. The All-Pro wide receiver was reinstated yesterday after violating the league’s substance abuse policy for the eleventyth time.
Stamps was not drafted after an uneventful NFL combine performance (he was the slowest safety of 16), but he still received a shot at the NFL from Cleveland, signing with the Browns on May 5. Here’s to hoping Stamps gets a shot somewhere else around the league before training camp begins.
