Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

It is that time of year again. A tradition started last summer has become a sensation to sweep the state. It is Year 2 of the KSR CHAIN RESTAURANT BRACKET. We began this last year and only did Fast Food, which caused a slight degree of controversy. The winner was Qdoba over Subway in the finals, but some believed Qdoba didnt really count as fast food and that led to unneeded controversy. So we decided to make things clearer this year. This season, we are combining ALL chain restaurants, from fast food to high-end casual. It is a mixed bag with lots of odd match ups, but that is what makes America great.

Here is how the field was picked:

1. We took restaurants on the Top 100 biggest chain list and then picked the ones with a heavy presence in Kentucky. Then we added a couple that are bigger here and not nationally (Skyline, Fazolis, etc).

2. We randomly did the bracket with no seeds. Since I will be one of the voters for the winner, it makes no sense to have me seed the field. So I did a random number generator to get the field…no bias, all randomness

3. The winners are based on which restaurants you like more. This isn’t which is the highest quality or the most successful…it is simply, who do you like more. When you do your own bracket with friends and family, that is what rules…nothing more, nothing less.

We will pick the winners over the next two days of KSR Radio. It starts tomorrow…I get a vote, Ryan gets one, Shannon gets one, the crowd at the Tour stop does and if there is a tie, we will go to either a caller or Drew Franklin…scientific, just like it should be.

But the good in this is if you do it for yourself. Who do you like? Who should be the winner? Have at it…the KSR Food Bracket is here Again

Just an absolute travesty that Papa Johns and Chiptole are matched up in round one.

Ummmmm. Why is Penn Station not listed? Definitely better than Jimmy John’s!

    The fix is in.

Hmmm….family of 6 here…do I fill out my bracket by “number of visits” or “dollars spent”?

“Visits” Final Four: Papa John’s, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Qdoba
“Visits” Final: McDonalds over Papa John’s

“Dollars” Final Four: Cracker Barrel, Logan’s, Outback, Red Lobster
“Dollars” Final: Red Lobster over Cracker Barrel

Oh, and…Shoney’s and Big Boy BOTH get bids (even though the latter is a spinoff of the former), but Schlotsky’s is left out? TRAVESTY!

Chick Fil A vs. Five Guys is the UK vs. IU of the second round. just too bad they couldn’t meet later when it matters more.

Looks like your sponsor Wendy has a tough round one match-up with White Castle. Actually Krystal is better than White Castle.
Reminds me, after I graduated from UK and moved to Birmingham to further my education, the first morning I ordered breakfast at a Krystal. There was a big white blob on my plate; I looked at the guy and pointed, What is that? He said “thems grits”. I said I didn’t order that; he said “they complimentary”. So I said what’s a grit?
Years later when I saw “My Cousin Vinney”, I had to laugh.

Moe’s sells more burritos than Qdoba or Chipotle but isn’t included. Must be that Moe’s is owned and controlled by Republicans?

After careful review, the investigatory committee (me) has determined that although the evidence is overwhelming that Matt Jones finessed, bias-ly seeded and influenced the bracket arrangement – there is not a AG in the immediate area (within 10 feet of me, in this locked office) that would take the case to prosecute, so at this time he is free to go

Anybody who votes for that abomination Subway is a mouthbreathing animal. The bread is baked in an AIDS oven, the meat is made out of recycled tires, and the cheese…whatever cow produced that milk should be subject to public execution. Subway is a stain on this nation the likes of which we haven’t seen since Donald trump came on the scene. God bless the souls of you fools that like that hellacious s*** hole. Anyone who eats there should have to wear a button so we know who to keep our children away from. Seriously screw subway and all its supporters I hate you all. Poor people food right there.

The West Region is by far the hardest. Taco Bell, Arby’s, Waffle House, Five Guys, Chick-Fil-A, White Castle & Wendy’s.
That’s the Region of Death. Come on, who seeded this thing? A vegan?

I’m expecting to see Cal on ESPN later today to complain about the brackets. His quotes will be…:
“Does where you ate last night not matter??”
“We might as well have skipped lunch because we ate a big breakfast, since the committee isn’t paying attention to that!?”
“Chick-Fil-A vs Five Guys in the second round? C’mon. That should have been a regional final!”

Breakfast is ok. Otherwise: Why would i want to pay for food that many of us ate when we were young, only because we couldn’t afford better? If I wanted beans and cornbread ( I don’t ) I would go to my in-laws. At least the country food is authentic.

This tourney should have been discontinued after its inaugural year if Subway made the finals.

However, this looks to be a screw job by the committee. The bottom two regions are a dumpster fire compared to the first two.

I am a Super Senior, which means I am permitted to tee off from the forward tees (formerly the ladies tees). My final four: O’Charley’s defeated Olive Garden, Cheddar’s vanquished Chick-Fil-A, Ruby Tuesday beat Johnny Carinos and Bonefish routed TGI Friday.
