2020 five-star forward Jalen Johnson set to announce final list

The No. 3 player in the class of 2020 is set to announce his final list of schools this afternoon.

According to Tipton Edits, five-star forward Jalen Johnson will be cutting his list to four.

Johnson then confirmed the news, telling his Twitter followers to “stay tuned” for the announcement.

Johnson, a consensus top-three prospect in the class of 2020, currently holds offers from Kentucky, Duke, Florida, Arizona, UCLA, and Wisconsin, among numerous others.

At the Nike EYBL event last weekend in Atlanta, Johnson told reporters that Kentucky was his “dream school” growing up.

“I really like Kentucky a lot, that’s been my dream school growing up,” Johnson said. “I liked watching John Wall when he was there, and that’s kind of when it started. I just had more interest from there throughout the years.”

At the time, he said that he was planning on cutting his list down to “eight or ten soon,” with a possible decision coming as early as Peach Jam in mid-July.

“I was thinking Peach Jam, but it just depends on when I get that feeling,” Johnson said. “I just want to go into my senior year knowing where I’m going to go, get the weight off my shoulders.”

With the 6-foot-8 small forward out of Glendale, Wisconsin already set to cut his list down to four, it looks like things could move rather quickly with one of the best players in the nation going forward.

I know they are saying bad news on Scottie Barnes, but wouldn’t we rather have this guy and Cade Cunningham?

I think Cal has to make this kid a priority but what do I know… I just know the number 1 player is off limits to any university not named USC… so I hope we zoom in on this guy

NOCLUE…depends on meaning of top players. If people consider top 5 or 10 as the top players we have not done well. I think top 25 or so is top and he will get them. Trouble is they have not lived up to the hype the last few years and as a result we knew in Dec/Jan the last 3 years that we had no title shot. We could not have had easier paths to F4 the last 2 years, just not enough talent and leadership to get there, that is on Cal.

2020 class will end up being Cals best since 2015. Recruiting is really going to be interesting after the one and done is gone in a few years. You know Cal always seems to be first with transcending recruiting philosophy’s. It’s going to be interesting to see his recruiting style then.
