2020 five-star forward Isaiah Jackson cuts list to three, includes Kentucky

2020 five-star forward Isaiah Jackson has included the Kentucky Wildcats in his final cut.

This afternoon, the 6-foot-9, 190-pound prospect out of Waterford, MI announced the final three schools remaining in consideration in his recruitment, with Kentucky joining the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Syracuse Orange.

Jackson, the No. 25 prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings for 2020, cut schools such as Michigan State, Memphis, Louisville, Florida State, Georgetown, Connecticut, and Oregon, among other offers, from his final list.

The five-star power forward took an official visit to Kentucky on August 30, with UK head coach John Calipari visiting Jackson at his high school in Michigan just a few weeks later after the opening of the fall recruiting period.

In an interview with Adam Zagoria of ZAGSBLOG, Jackson’s father, Wesley Jackson, said things went very well and his son is still a top priority for the Kentucky coaching staff.

“Cal came to the high school yesterday,” Jackson said. “The visit went well. He said he just wanted him to know personally Isaiah is an important piece to his recruitment.”

Jackson is widely expected to make a decision in the coming months and sign in the spring.

Until then, check out some of his most recent highlights:

That Michigan State Crystal Ball pick isn’t looking that good.

Yes Alabama is the current leader but his visit to UK went really well and UK is starting to pickup the momentum in his recruitment. However he does have a very strong relationship with Avery Johnson that goes way back. Bama is also literally in his backyard. However Cal can offer Jackson things that Avery Johnson & Alabama just simply can’t offer him. Which has Jackson torn by having chose between going to a school in his backyard , playing for a coach he has known and has developed a strong bond with? Or going to plack like UK where he could go up against other elite player with a similar skill level as him in practice, playing under the spotlight while being better prepared not only as player but also be better prepared for life in the NBA, while also having a HC who could better sell him as player to NBA teams which means he would have a much better chance of being a one and done lottery pick at Kentucky rather than Alabama? It will depend on what he believes is in best interest. At moment I think Bama still leads but UK has gained a massive amount of momentum that it probably won’t be too much longer before takes over the lead from Alabama.

However there are things that can happen that could help bama reclaim the momentum. One could be if Cal gets a commit from Todd first, which won’t completely eliminate UK,but it could help swing Jackson towards signing with Alabama, another thing that would wrench into Jackson’s recruitment would be if Banchero shockingly decided to reclassify to the 2020 class. If this happend then Cal might decide to prioritize Banchero over Jackson. Which might not sit well with Jackson. UK is also in the running for Makur Maker,Cliff Omoruyi, and Isaiah Todd who I mentioned earlier. If Cal gets commitments from any two of these big men it could also push Jackson to sign with Alabama.

The point is that there are so many things that could happen we are just going to wait and see. However I think it is more likely we get Todd and or Jackson or Omoruyi than getting Maker or getting Banchero to reclassify to 2020. In Cal we should all trust.

Avery isn’t there, and kid is from Michigan. So basically you spent 20 minutes typing nonsense and concluded with “we have to wait and see”. Reading that is 60 seconds of my life I’ll never get back

You okay there macassassin? Lol. Nothing you just typed made any sense at all unless you’re from a version of the past where Avery is still coaching and Michigan and Mississippi trades geographical locations. It’s okay, we won’t tell anyone you thought MI was the state abbreviation for Mississippi.

Mac! I really don’t know what to say about that, so I’m just not going to say anything. He’s Kentucky’s if Cal wants him. If not he’ll probably go play two three zone in New York.

I will actually say one thing Mac!, Trying to make people believe you’re some insider or in the know, doesn’t usually work out too well when you mess up this bad. I’d probably just take a few weeks off and try again with another name. Lol. No offense or nothing, just trying to help you out.

Also, Again, Quit trying to make people believe you know something you don’t!! Just use, “ In my opinion “, or “I believe “,!

This will likely come down to UK and Bama. I would lean towards UK right now but things can change as we all know with recruiting. Go Cats!!!

I agree but if this kid develops into a good perimeter shooter and le
becomes a decent 3 point shooter
then I think he could be a really force in the NBA. I envision him becoming the closest thing to Kawhi Leonard that you could possibly be without being Kawhi Leonard. That’s the type of player he could become. That’s the type of player Cal wants out thier especially in dribble-drive.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!! You have really killed any chance of anyone ever listening to anything you ever say again after these posts on here. Wow man.

Actually Bama leads he has built a really strong bond with Avery Johnson and Alabama is literally in his backpack. He is also a momma’s boy so being close to his mom is going to be very hard for him pass up. He also grew up a Bama fan. It’s a situation where he either is going choose to go with his heart or go with what’s best for him on paper (essentially going with his head) Cal has picked up a massive amount of ground and momentum with Jackson. It will come down to UK or Bama. I think he pick UK in the end.

MacAssassin I love your enthusiasm but as others have said Avery Johnson was fired back in March after they missed the NCAA tournament. The rest of your insights prove to be unreliable by you not knowing this key fact.
