Word came out today that the University of Kentucky has officially offered 2015 Center Doral Moore a scholarship. The seven-foot, four-star from Georgia had Kentucky listed in his top five back on July 17th alongside Illinois, Florida, Ohio State, and Wake Forest. Currently, Moore (8th best Center) is projected by the 247sports Crystal Ball to select Kentucky with 50% of the vote.

Also, you can’t forget about Doral’s quote he shared with CBSSports.com’s Jeff Borzello about the Cats back on July 15th:

“You saw what they did with Anthony Davis and a couple of their other bigs. If I go there, there’s no telling what I could do or how good I could get. Probably my first year or second, I can get to the league. They can get me there.”

In the meantime, here’s a highlight video of Doral unleashing his inner Dikembe on some unfortunate players:

So the eighth-best center in the class thinks he is one-and-done or two-and-done? Ohhhhh boy.

This guy is very agile for his size.. reminds me a lot of Marcus Camby, with maybe a little less vertical. He seems to be a little quicker. Cal knows who he is recruiting, and I even think that by the time all is said and done, his ranking will increase overall. Anytime your are 7′, can run the floor, and have decent hands (shot) you are NBA bound.

He has a lot of the tools that work in Cal’s system. Gets all over the floor.

I have a question: is Cal offering about everyone in that class because the class is weak, or is he throwing a very wide net to help his replacement after he leaves after 2015?

I think he’s expecting a mass exodus of players. Twins, Dakari, WCS, Poythress, Towns, and maybe Lee and Lyles will enter the draft with a successful run at #9.

Likes like a more coordinated, faster version of WCS.

Something seems odd w/ Cal’s latest recruiting class. Either he’s not trying for the top guys, or he’s lost his edge.

The class is weak. Cal knows that, and is taking anything he can get.

A couple years ago, we wouldn’t be waiting time on the number 9 center or any other position. We are BBN, we demand the best!

Is that Joel Embiid out there? This cat is gonna be a great rim protector and rebounder for us once Cal gets that footwork on point. Looks like he has much more mass and potential for a muscular frame than Noel or AD had at this time of their development. And whos to say this cat wont grow another 2-4 inches, hes only 17 freakin years old! I would think he would be a 5 star player though. Whats up with that?
