20 UK athletes COVID positive in latest round of testing

UK Athletics just shared the results from its latest round of COVID-19 testing. From September 3-16, 20 out of 336 student-athletes tested PCR (polymerase chain reaction) positive for the coronavirus, along with three of 225 staff members. The student-athletes and staff who tested positive are required to isolate in accordance with CDC and local health department guidelines.

Overall on UK’s campus, there are 312 total active cases of coronavirus, with 26 newly reported on September 28 according to the UK COVID dashboard. Seventy students are currently in isolation. To date, there have been 1,459 total positive results out of 32,721 total tests conducted.
