Hello valued readers, comment writers, and constant refreshers. This page is here in order to ease the transition back to required registration for user comments. Below you will find some useful information regarding the site, reasons to register, and where to get login help.
KSR & WordPress
- KSR started as a small endeavor and WordPress was used, well, because it was what our hosting provider offered. We grew and WordPress grew with us. We are now up to 3 servers, and on above average days handle 200,000 pageviews. On large news days, we take over 300,000 hits. Over the last 2 years we have struggled to keep everything in balance but I think we finally have it figured out. If it crashes, assume BTI is solely responsible.
Reasons to Login
- Your KSR page is always up to date. WordPress is displaying a cached page that is produced every time a change is made to content within that page. Since the page that is displayed is cached, the content is delayed and comments and posts may show up delayed. Long story short, you won’t have to post a comment or keep hitting refresh in order to view recently posted comments or updated posts. (note – your page will not auto refresh, it will just display the most up to date information our KSR server hamsters can push out) You can also checkout the “Turbo” option on the WordPress login dashboard. It will help your page load speed if you have slow internet access.
- Your old login information has not been deleted. If you had an account before, you will login in the same way with your same username and password. If you can’t remember your password, use the “Forgot Password” button to email you with a new password. If you didn’t have an account before, the race is on for your favorite unique identifier that gives everyone insight to your qwirky, awesome, you thought of it first, omg evryne is gng to lta’so, username. Finally, if you still have problems, email me I will check for login problems once a week, or sooner if I have time. For the first week, I’ll check the emails nightly.
