The one thing I’ve found more difficult to watch other than Elimidate and UK’s Offense, is…Louisville’s offense. In case you missed it, and hopefully you did, the Cards needed a late 17-0 run to beat Miami 58-43. The ‘Ville shot 35% from the field, including a woeful one FG in a nearly 15 minute stretch in the second half. Putrid indeed. Louisville is so reliant on Tae-Kwan-Do who’s been shooting like Mr. Magoo of late, and got in early foul trouble. So for all of those Pitinoites out there who long for the days of 90 ppg, this should reaffirm the notion that it’s players, not coaches, who dictate the score.
Does anyone have a better job than ESPN’s Joe Lunardi? The “bracketologist” (not sure where he got that degree) attempts to select the tournament field before the season even begins, and updates it every week. Get the name of every NCAA team and some darts, and you too can be a bracketologist. By the way, he currently has UK as a 5 seed in the Oakland bracket facing UNC-Wilmington…My guess is Tubby’s already ordered plenty of Seahawks game film.
Rob Gidel’s ego and Final Four selections took a monster hit today with the news that UCLA’s Cedric Bozeman may miss the entire season with torn cartilage in his shoulder. And worse, their bracket has them in the same region as Duke and a possible 2nd round matchup against Texas looms. Thanks Joe Lunardi.
The best Christmas gift of all came in the Peach Bowl when LSU made a mockery out of The U, 40-3. 3 points, and zero first downs in the second half. That folks is an old fashioned woodshed if I’ve ever seen it, and further proves that the talking heads of the ACC who think themselves superior to the SEC are about as intelligent as Larry the Cable guy ten Budweisers deep . Beat ’em down on the field and then in the tunnel after the game…Only Bobby Bowden’s bible is more of a farce than Miami.
Did anyone else hear through the lisps well enough to hear Lou Holtz nearly in tears after the Peach Bowl, whining about the post-game scuffle. He compared it to his USC-Clemson brawl last season, and said the integrity of the game is ruined by such noxious behavior. Yes Lou, it’s fighting that squashes integrity, not illegal recruting practices…
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never wanted a UK player to succeed as much as Joe Crawford. Morris may be the missing piece to a conference championship puzzle, but a confident Joe Crawford is the only way UK can go deep into the NCAA tourney. Also, keep in mind, the kid’s only a Sophomore.
You have to hand it to Matt Jones, who correctly predicted (show #15) that Iona and Ohio would prove to be more than just a pre-conference tune-up, and not a chance for Adam Williams to leave us asking why he was offered a scholarship as a Sophomore in high school.
