Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Zy’Aire Hughes is in the NCAA Transfer Portal

The transfer portal swallowed another one. This time, it is UK wide receiver Zy’Aire Hughes.

Derek Terry over at CatsPause.com has the scoop. He is reporting Hughes is floating around in the portal, even though Hughes’ name hasn’t been added to 247’s portal site as I write this.

The news isn’t much of a surprise. Hughes has been away from the program since his arrest on fourth-degree assault charges back in December. The Paducah native did not participate in spring practice.

During happier times in Lexington, Hughes had a 49-yard touchdown on his first career touch, a reverse out of the Wildcat, against Murray State. He played in six other games last season and would’ve been a contender for serious minutes at receiver this coming season, if not for the off-field issue before the Citrus Bowl.

Now he is looking for a fresh start in college football. Good luck to him.

Looks like a lot of scholarships are opening up. Stoops may get a full class signed next year after all.

Dont see why kids have to transfer to get a fresh start. Such a ridiculously hypocritical culture we have in this country.

Best of futures to this young man. Learn your lesson and grow from it
