Za’Darius Smith looked good in practice today

UK Football Fan Day

We can all let out a sigh of relief this afternoon now that we know Za’Darius Smith is back on the football field. Stoops said Big Z practiced today and “looked good” after suffering a high ankle sprain during the first week of fall camp.

Stoops doesn’t expect him to be behind the rest of the group despite the lost time.

Good luck with that, Western.

It seems to me like KSR is really hoping that Zadarius Smith will become UK’s own Jadeveon Clowney. Some of the measurements are certainly similar, and I’ll be interested to see how he does against the highest-level D-1 competition.

1 – Here is a little tidbit from a previous post about Big Z:

Za’Darius Smith, a defensive end from East Mississippi Community College, signed his scholarship papers to play at the University of Kentucky on Wednesday morning, the first day of the junior college signing period for college football. Smith is a 4-star prospect and the second-ranked junior college defensive end in the country, according to ESPN’s JUCO 100. He had offers from Miami, Florida State, Texas, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and West Virginia, among others.

You Western fans don’t have a clue what you are talking about. The schools that offered scholarships to him are top tier football programs. Thanks for proving your lack of knowledge though.

Zadarius Smith was in Juco because he’s not so hot in the classroom. It’s never been an issue of his game. He’s a force, and would definitely be WKU’s best player.

Off the subject of Big Z but Blake Bone is supposed to visit UK during the Alumni Game which is Sept. 9, way past Tuesday when he is going to announce where he will be attending college. Why would he schedule a visit to UK after he announces where he is going to college unless he is coming to UK! This looks good for us on Tuesday.

If you were at the spring game and Za’Darius didn’t jump out at you as a beast then you were blind. Western will find out next Saturday when their quarterback gets taken off the field on a stretcher. He may end up reminding a whole lot of people of Jadaveon Clowney by the end of the year. I expect a Dupree/Smith Pancake against western.

UL fan supports UK, well I rooted for Morehead State to beat UL in the NCAA tourney and Morehead St. won!!! If you are not rooting for your own school, at least know which team to pick. lol loserville fans are so dumb. UK owns loserville despite last years fluke. See loservilles record against UK-Cal 1 – 4. See the loserville football teams record in the last 6 years against UK 2 -4 and those 2 wins came against the joke… smh
