YAHTZEE! Kentucky football gets commit from Paul Rodriguez

The dice are still hot for the University of Kentucky football team. The Wildcats just picked up a commitment from Paul Rodriguez, a 3-star offensive tackle from Mason, Ohio. The 2021 commit announced the news via Instagram Wednesday night.

Committed…??

A post shared by Paul Rodriguez? (@paul.rodriguez78) on

According to Rodriguez’s 24/7Sports composite profile, he checks in at 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds. The recruiting website also lists him as the No. 62 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 27 player from Ohio. He also held offers from Purdue, Maryland, Iowa State and Rutgers.

Rodriguez is Kentucky’s second commitment for the 2021 class. The Cats landed 3-star linebacker Devon Williams, another Ohio product, in late January. Check out KSR’s film-room review of Williams by clicking here.

Kentucky was the first SEC team to extend a scholarship offer to both Rodriguez and Williams.

And who took the lead during Rodriguez’s recruitment, you may wonder? Not surprisingly, the Ohio native was heavily recruited by Kentucky’s lead recruiter and associate head coach, Vince Marrow.

Just about an hour before Rodriguez made his announcement, Coach Marrow himself told the BBN to get their dice ready.

The Big Dog always knows.

Welcome to the BBN, Paul Rodriguez!

I’m excited about this football program and the direction it’s going. However, I just can’t get overly excited about “verbal commitments” anymore. So much can change between now and when they sign their LOI. That’s just me, sorry!

Then don’t read or comment on it. Facts are over 90 percent of our early commits have signed. All you people said sane thing about Rogers last year. I just enjoy seeing all these prospects coming our way. Sure we will lose one here and there, like I have said that is a good thing. You see before stoops got here no other teams wanted the recruits we were getting because they weren’t SEC caliber. Other people wanting our players is a good thing and those that don’t want to be here see ya. you’re going to miss something great.

Don’t you just love how he defends the football program out of one side of his mouth while he denigrates the basketball program and Cal out of the other side of his mouth?

Yeah, I read his comment on one of the other posts. I was gonna reply, but I just left it alone and just laughed.

Funny how leading up to last season he was complaining Stoops couldn’t coach and we barely break even since Benny and Allen wouldn’t be there to save his a$$.

3 star Ohio kid that wasn’t recruited by Cincinnati or Ohio State?? What are we missing here? Let’s hope at 6’5 305lbs he can be developed by Scharlman & co.

UC did offer, but Ohio State didn’t. He’s gotten 12 offers so far.

Our staff has proven that they know what they are doing when recruiting OL. If they want him, then that’s good enough for me.
