YAHTZEE! 2019 in-state DE Shawnkel Knight-Goff commits to KENTUCKY

2019 three-star DE Shawnkel Knight-Goff is going to have to switch out that red prom suit for Kentucky blue…

This afternoon, the No. 5 prospect in the state of Kentucky (Louisville Doss High School) announced his commitment to KENTUCKY!

Knight-Goff, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound DE/OLB, received an offer from the Cats back in July of 2016.

Almost two years later, he made it official.

Kentucky assistant coach Vince Marrow called the Yahtzee, and Rivals’ Justin Rowland later confirmed it was indeed Knight-Goff.

Knight-Goff becomes the fifth commitment to Kentucky over the last two weeks, joining West Jessamine OL Eli Cox, South Carolina DB Jalen Geiger, Florida quarterback Nik Scalzo, and Florida OL Jake Pope.

According to Justin Rowland, Knight-Goff, who was on an unofficial visit to Kentucky today, is expected to play outside linebacker for the Cats in 2019.

The newest commitment chose the Cats over offers from Louisville, Purdue, Cincinnati, and Indiana.

Speaking of Louisville, the Cards held 57% of Knight-Goff’s Crystal Ball predictions, including two submissions over the last three days:

What a beautiful sight.

Watch our newest Cat go to work:

Welcome home!

What’s great about this is he had several crystal ball picks the past couple days on 247 and ALL of them had him going to UL. Hahahahahahahahaha. I’m glad this kid has a good head on his shoulders.

From the looks of that jacket, he was still thinking about it…Matt Jones is so jealous.

Sounds like he may be as versatile as Marlon McCree. Hope he is that good or better!

    Vince Marrow is the GOAT.

Good to hear! Hopefully he can put on about 30 good pounds and pull a Josh Allen.

Serious question, Jack said he was one of the top 5 players in the state but in a KSR article back on April 11th these were the top players in the state with their national ranking:

    DE Stephen Herron, No. 72
    ATH Milton Wright, No. 137
    DT Jacob Lacey, No. 154
    OT Bryan Hudson, No. 212
    OT Tanner Bowles, No. 282

So where does anyone come up with the state ranking? 24/7 currently lists him as the #7 player in the state. At the end of the day I think we all know the ranking / star system is no guarantee. I think they are more just for fun and bragging rights for the fans more than anything.

What is your point? That media outlets shouldn’t report commitments? That school shouldn’t even take them? Go pee on some other parade.

My point is, today’s kids don’t COMMIT, they say they say it but are susceptible to changing until the letter is signed. Oh, and I can’t pee on another parade because I just got finished pissing down your throat!

Well, Woodford would be my first choice. If the guy tells me to go pee on something else, I’m coming back. Just the way it is my friend.

Yahtzee!! Sports Composite has him ranked 588th nationally and 43rd among weakside defensive ends. Hot damn, look out.

Yeah, well, his father once called him #1, so KSR will say UK landed a commitment from the #1 player.

uavelians are mindless trolls who still can’t accept that PIMPjurich and PIMPTINO sank to the depths along with their 2013 ship. Idiocy reigns supreme in and away from the juco wannabe Belknap campus.

Uhh hmm ? not impressed. Competition is absolutely pitiful and subpar. Looks great on film. However, a true typical athlete!

He seemed to be a man among boys in the video……not sure who he was playing in much of that footage, but it looked like a grade-school team. BIG difference between galloping untouched through a litter of 5’8″ 130 pound linebackers and the SEC……But he looks great on film, and hope his talents indeed translate to BIG TIME D1 football in the SEC.
