Will Muschamp apologizes for pregame handshake controversy

During his weekly teleconference this afternoon, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp addressed the handshake controversy that occurred prior to Kentucky’s 23-13 victory over the Gamecocks.

Muschamp opened up the teleconference by saying he is disappointed in his team’s actions.

“I didn’t really know anything about this until this morning,” Muschamp said. “Our players are always expected to shake hands regardless of the circumstances, and I addressed it with them and our football team. We are always going to have class and display sportsmanship in everything we do and represent the University of South Carolina in a first-class manner.

Muschamp said that he called Mark Stoops this morning to apologize for the situation.

“When I found out about it this morning I immediately called Mark Stoops and apologized for whatever ill will there might be, and absolutely Mark and I are one the same page. It never should have happened and we will move on.”

He was reporting what a player said from my understanding.

Big deal. They got beat, at home, during a blackout. Worst of all they still have WM, who not only apologizes to the fans for his team’s performance, but also to opposing coaches for his team’s behavior.
He has zero control of that program.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand Will Muschamp. I think he’s an arrogant pr!ck and it’s obvious that he doesn’t respect our program. His post game Q&A with the reporters was a joke, he gave no credit to Kentucky and basically made it sound like it was a flook.

I think the S.C. team mirrors their coach, so when their coach doesn’t respect his opponents, the players wont either. Muschamp will probably be fired before too long.
