When The Stoops Brothers Get Together It’s ALL Football

Drew Franklin dared me more than once to ask for a selfie with the Stoops brothers (Mike, Bob and Mark) and Coach Cal. I chickened out, but thanks to the fine photography by Jonathan Palmer I was able to get my selfie.

In a family filled with college football coaches, it can sometimes be tough for the Stoopses to get together for some quality time.  Rather than trying to find time to get family together away from football, why not bring family to the football?

Today the eldest brother, Ron, was the only Stoops not in attendance.  During the scrimmage time of open practice, Mike was standing behind Mark behind the defense.  After Mike gave some instructions, they began to go back and forth.  Needless to say, Mark loves the additional coaching from his brothers.

Oh yeah, definitely.  That’s what they’re here for.  I mean, they’re not here just for fun. You know, we’ve got to put them to work.  So, absolutely that’s what we constantly do.  We talk about ideas, ways to do things, different change-ups, how they may play a certain formation or a certain adjustment, so it’s good to have them here.  I’m definitely going to utilize them while they’re here to go watch some film of this practice and some previous Spring practices and get some work done.”

We often talk about package deals in recruiting, but this package deal might be the sweetest one Kentucky has ever landed.

Why aren’t they at their own team practices?

Because all the Spring practices are done, except UK.

Can one of the Stoops brothers teach Mark how to win an SEC game?

Cal looks to be in a good mood. That’s either really good coffee or he knows next year’s team is going to be loaded.

(2/10) is a higher winning percentage than (1/6).

      Have a wonderful day!

No, most of the fans here have a clue. There clearly are some real idiots and anybody who criticizes Stoops for the job he’s done thus far simply does not know much about college football.

Why do you trolls have to be keyboard warriors? This is a great thing to have with our program!! Kids pay attention to this kind of stuff when they are deciding where to play, and having a National Championship winning Bro is something to say!!

Glad Coach Stoops came to Kentucky. I see good things in the near future.

Okay, so, I live near Austin Texas. When I’m not rooting for the Cats I’m yelling Hook ‘Em. But, between Texas hiring Charlie Strong and the other Stoops brothers hanging out at practice, I may have to give up my OU Sux shirts.

Thanks Bob and Mike. Wow, sounds like a comedy team or something.

Glad the coaches are all business. I imagine once you get to 2-10, give all of your coaches a huge raise last week, why not have the family in and share a few laughs during practice. Maybe they can improve to 3-9. Simply nuts. This isn’t Kentucky basketball. It’s Kentucky football and you need every minute the NCAA provides you for practice..

Come all the way down here to stomp on a last place team. A tough guy like you should have something better to do. Either that, or maybe you’re starting to get a little nervous. LOL
