What do we think about UK Football’s updated over/under win total?

We are 46 days from the season opener vs. Southern Miss, and in turn, online sports book Bovada just released updated over/under win totals for each team in college football. The oddsmakers set Kentucky’s win total at seven, with the over being +130 (bet $100 to win $130) and the under being -160 (bet $160 to win $100).

Here are the win totals for the rest of the league:

  • Alabama: 10.5 (Over -200, Under +160)
  • Auburn: 8.5 (Over -150, Under +120)
  • Georgia: 8.5 (Over -130, Under EVEN)
  • LSU: 9 (Over -130, Under EVEN)
  • Florida: 8 (Over -155, Under +125)
  • Tennessee: 7.5 (Over -110, Under -110)
  • Texas A&M: 7 (Over -110, Under -110)
  • Kentucky: 7 (Over +130, Under -160)
  • Arkansas: 7 (Over -130, Under EVEN)
  • Missouri: 6.5 (Over +120, Under -150)
  • Vanderbilt: 6 (Over +120, Under -150)
  • Ole Miss: 5.5 (Over -135, Under +105)
  • Mississippi State: 5.5 (Over -155, Under +125)
  • South Carolina: 5.5 (Over -130, Under EVEN)

If I were a gambling girl, I’d go all in on that over. Here’s the schedule for reference:

Sept. 2 at Southern Miss Hattiesburg, Miss.
Sept. 9 EASTERN KENTUCKY Lexington, Ky.
Sept. 16 at South Carolina Columbia, S.C.
Sept. 23 FLORIDA Lexington, Ky.
Sept. 30 EASTERN MICHIGAN Lexington, Ky.
Oct. 7 MISSOURI Lexington, Ky.
Oct. 14 Open Date
Oct. 21 Mississippi State Starkville, Miss.
Oct. 28 TENNESSEE Lexington, Ky.
Nov. 4 OLE MISS Lexington, Ky.
Nov. 11 at Vanderbilt Nashville, Tenn.
Nov. 18 at Georgia Athens, Ga.
Nov. 25 LOUISVILLE Lexington, Ky.

Your turn. Over or under seven wins?

UT under 7.5 and Ole Miss over 5.5 is free money. Does this include a bowl game or regular season only?

I think it’s regular season only. Ole Miss has a good qb but they aren’t good. We should handle them easily. UT under is money. Georgia over looks good, too.

I don’t think Ole Miss is as bad as everyone thinks. Hope you’re right though.

LSU and Missouri under look too easy.

I think we will win 8. Interesting that SC is dead last.

    seven seems legit.

I know this is optimistic but hear me out. If we can get the W at. South Carolina and break the Florida streak. We could be looking at a ten win season.

On a side note, I just realized 7 of the 12 teams we play are from 3 states. I wonder when the last time that happened (if ever)?

Sweeping the Mississippi schools would make for a great season. And Tennessee.

I’m pretty sure this is talking about the regular season and if the over/under is at 7, it’s going to be a push at best.

I don’t see winning against Georgia at their house. They skated by Miss State last year by a last second field goal and it’s at their house. Tennessee has our number again, and good luck with Florida after being dominated last year by them. Don’t care if it’s at our house. Louisville is the wild card here. We played them tough last year but they also turned over a lot late. Home field helps vs them but I feel it can go either way. Nobody saw last year’s game coming after their guy was named for the Heisman race.

I’m kinda with you. I think we get 1 of the 2 SEC Mississippi schools, 1 of the 4 of Florida, Georgia, Louisville, and Tennessee. Then win all the others except one loss that shouldn’t be like a Vandy or Mizzou. So that would be 7 total.

The nice thing about this bet is that a push is no bet, unlike church picnics where the house gets all push $$….UK doesn’t beat anyone “easy” in the SEC. Hope that changes, but show me, don’t tell me…

Georgia and florida are unwinnable–talent gap just too big. Every other game is winnable.

Unwinnable? Lost to UGA on a last second FG last year. And 2 of the last 3 vs UF were toss ups. Obviously last year was a debacle vs UF.

Potential for 9+. Won’t finish with less than 7 unless injuries stack up.

It would have to be a train wreck to get less than 7 wins. 8 will be tough but higher probability than 6.
