Well that’s one way to get open

Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 2.04.10 PM

New UK wide receiver Kayaune Ross, a JUCO transfer, bullied the hell out of a defensive back (Mike Edwards, maybe?) while getting some reps on the practice field.

Watch as the 6-foot-6 receiver shoves his defender aside to get open in the end zone.

Let’s hope this says more about Ross’ strength than it does UK’s secondary, which is the best it’s been heading into the season, possibly ever. Mark Stoops has an elite bunch back there for 2016, although you wouldn’t know it by watching this one clip.

Yikes, that was some bad positioning on the DB’s part. No strength when you’re down that low.

Most would argue that staying low gives you a better center of gravity. Looks to me like he just got knocked on his ass by a much larger, much stronger person.

I generally agree that being low lowers your center of gravity, but you can be too low, as demonstrated above. haha

Offensive pass interference, and the DB still almost made a play because of the QB’s slow release.

    Definitely offensive pass interference

How? The offense has just as much of a right to initiate contact within 5 yards as the defense.

Get those mistakes out of your system on the practice field, guys. I know you’ll learn from them.

This is not good, if that was a real DB, and they are supposedly the best our defense has to offer.
    Another long season.

Was that Towles with the late throw that almost sailed out of bounds?
