Auburn 38 Mississippi State 14
TD for the big fella!

Cats fans should feel a lot better about their next game following Mississippi State’s beatdown by Auburn. Auburn dominated the game. Kamryn Pettway had a career day by rushing for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns. Mississippi State’s 2 touchdowns did come off of Nick Fitzgerald passes, but Fitzgerald also lost 2 fumbles including one that was returned for an Auburn touchdown. Next up, Auburn will join Kentucky on a bye week before welcoming in Arkansas and Mississippi State travels to BYU.
Texas A&M 45 Tennessee 38 (2OT)

Tennessee’s luck finally ran out, but boy did they use every last drop of it. Tennessee outscored the Aggies 28-7 over the last quarter and half, including a touchdown with 0:41 remaining in regulation. Texas A&M had a shot to win at the end of regulation, but Daniel LaCamera’s kick sailed wide left. LaCamera redeemed himself with a 34 yard field goal to send the game into a second overtime. Trevor Knight made an impressive run to score for the Aggies to take the lead in the second overtime and Joshua Dobbs threw an interception on the first play for Tennessee to win the game for A&M. Next up, Tennessee welcomes in #1 Alabama while A&M has week off before visiting Alabama.
Alabama 49 Arkansas 30
Minkah Fitzpatrick. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
— SEC Network (@SECNetwork) October 9, 2016
Alabama is a really good football team. Jalen Hurts accounted for four touchdowns and Minkah Fitzgerald had three interceptions including one that was returned for a touchdown. For Arkansas, Austin Allen did throw for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns, but the 3 interceptions overshadow an otherwise impressive showing. Next up, Alabama heads to Knoxville for a showdown with the Vols, while Arkansas welcomes in Chad Kelly and his Ole Miss Rebels.
Other Games of Note
Oklahoma 45 Texas 40

For the first time this year, I correctly predicted the outcome of an Oklahoma football game. The story for the Sooners was Baker Mayfield, Samaje Perrine and DeDe Westbrook. Mayfield passed for 390 yards and 3 touchdowns with all of those going to Westbrook who accounted for 232 receiving yards. Oh yeah, Perrine had 214 rushing yards of his own. Oklahoma had 672 yards of offense to Texas’ 425 and only won by 5.
Virginia Tech 34 North Carolina 3

It never fails that at least one of the teams I predict to win gets blown out. The game was played through heavy wind and rain as a result of Hurricane Matthew. Both teams accounted for 395 COMBINED yards. Jerod Evans will have the storyline as we leave this game as he passed for 75 yards and rushed for 49 for a combined 3 touchdowns.
Florida State 20 Miami 19

Miami had an extra point blocked that would have tied the game with 1:38 remaining in their loss to Florida State. Dalvin Cook had 150 yards on the ground and also caught a 59 yard touchdown pass. The Seminole NEEDED a win and were able to get it against a good Miami team. For the ‘Canes, Brad Kaaya passed for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns, but the story of the game for him is the play above, where he was hit and lost a tooth because of it.
