Way Too Early College Football Bowl Projections

There are 207 more days until the first game of the 2019-20 college football bowl season kicks off, but that hasn’t stopped a few outlets from putting out early bowl projections.

Coming off an historic ten-win season and a Citrus Bowl victory, the pundits still are not completely sold on the Wildcats. All five early bowl projections place UK in the SEC’s second-tier of bowl games that includes the Liberty, Belk and Music City bowls.

It’s hard to blame the college football forecasters for pigeon-holing UK into the 6-8 win category after losing Josh Allen, Benny Snell and the entire secondary. If the seasons does shake out that way, Music City is probably the least likely option. Bowl games need fresh blood and the Belk Bowl in Charlotte is one destination still unscathed by the Big Blue Nation’s fingerprints.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Mark Stoops’ UK football teams, it’s that they often surprise you for the better. All of this could be thrown out the window if UK’s young secondary proves to be formidable and Terry Wilson transforms into a superstar.

Assuming this is a current article 207 days would be almost 7 months and put the first game in Dec.

The so called experts don’t know that we have some talent stepping in to fill the shoes of those we lost. They just know we had a special season and lost several great players and think we will be the old UK. Guarantee you most of them can’t name 3 young men on our team. Dline and LB spots are in great shape and depth. RB and WR as well, great shape and depth{I think some are going to surprise in wr area}. Oline is best we have had and has depth. DB spot we need some young guys to acceept and win the challenge, some talented guys there that are capable of doing so but it is a question area. QB spot I can see where they hesitate on us but cmon people, this young man was in his first year at this level of play and got us a 10-3 Citrus Bowl season. Yea, he had lots of help but he did not lose us games and did show improvement and did win us a few games. If he steps up to what I believe he can be, 10 wins is very probable, maybe 11. People knock on Terry but there have not been many 1st year QB’s that were great in the SEC, he did ok and what they asked of him. I was screaming for us to throw down the field as well, if Gran does not call those plays this season we may win 6-7 games.

Mashburnfan1 is a football fan. That explains his hatred for basketball. Hey Mash, we’re always gonna be a basketball school. Does that ruin your day?

We have to remember that last year was special and it would be crazy to assume we will just win 10+ games from now on (especially in the highly competitive SEC).

But that said, hopefully last year is a real step forward and the next several years are winning seasons, with a few more really special years.

This site is the only place I’ve encountered “AN historic” in actual use. I didn’t realize “h” was a vowel or otherwise silent. Lol jk
