WATCH: Mark Stoops, the Kentucky Wildcats and Virginia Tech Hokies Preview the Belk Bowl

Belk Bowl Media Day featured a few fireworks thanks to an incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway. All that aside, players and coaches provided a few other interesting nuggets that got lost in the wash.

Kash Daniel talked about how time has flown by at Kentucky. Over his four years at UK, Mark Stoops has changed his bowl prep each season. Kash believes they have finally found the right formula.

Mark Stoops did not disagree with Kash’s assertion. He might agree if the Cats win their second consecutive bowl game tomorrow afternoon.

I asked Logan Stenberg about the importance of getting to the next level against a defense that will play aggressive to try to stop Bowden Ball.

Before the Louisville game, Calvin Taylor Jr. had some trash-talk to share. I regret to inform you he did not replicate that ahead of the Belk Bowl.

On the Virginia Tech side, Justin Fuente talked about his versatile tight ends before turning his attention to the Kentucky Wildcats.

Hokies’ defensive team captain Rayshard Ashby shared his emotions before his defensive coordinator, Bud Foster, coaches in his final game.

I also spoke to Hendon Hooker, a quarterback that had nothing but nice things to say about his counterpart.
