After carefully easing into fall camp, the Kentucky football program took a major step forward on Saturday by conducting its first official intrasquad scrimmage of the season exactly four weeks ahead of the team’s season-opener at Auburn on Sept. 26.
How did the Wildcats look? Were there any individual standouts? Did they come away injury free?
Immediately following the scrimmage, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops, along with impact seniors Landon Young and Yusuf Corker, spoke with the media to break things down.
Stoops got things rolling by praising the quarterbacks for their efficient play, highlighting the freshmen making an early impact on the practice field, and the absence of in-person recruiting, among other topics.

Landon Young followed Stoops with a breakdown of Kentucky’s impact pass-rushers, his confidence in Terry Wilson, and how good it felt to get back to a live game scenario with his teammates.

Finally, Yusuf Corker closed things out with his thoughts on the media doubting Kentucky’s ability to contend in the SEC East, which unit he feels won the scrimmage, and his status as the hardest hitter on the team, among other topics.
