WATCH: Josh Paschal gets first tackle after beating cancer

Today was already an emotional day, but Josh Paschal just took it to another level.

The sophomore defensive end returned to the field today for the first time after being diagnosed with malignant melanoma before the season began. Just seeing him on the field was great, but Paschal brought the crowd at Kroger Field to their feet when he got this tackle in the second quarter:

Awesome moment.

Senior day and then this. What an incredible day. Love this team, love their fight, and thank God for their heart. Best senior day since Keenan, Andre, and that wonderful bunch.

Was at the game watched him closely every time he got in and it was truly special to watch. Say what you want about the people that didn’t show, but the ones that did, know their UK football and the crowd got super loud when they announced Josh’s name. The game got out of hand fast and some fans left, mostly students. It was really cold on the shady side, so a lot of people moved to the sunny side of the stadium. I’ve traveled to games in southern miss, been to a ton of home game in the stoops era and we are getting better slowly but surely, this year especially was accelerated quick. Having said that, even in the wins and losses there are some disappointments, were growing on all fronts as a program, but when we truly arrive it will be special! In college football every game truly matters, preparation and focus are key. The program has to figure out what that means.. fans, players, coaches and admins… Weve never been there.
