WATCH: E:60 releases Jared Lorenzen tribute

Last summer, ESPN did an E:60 on Jared Lorenzen and his battle to lose weight. Last night, E:60 host Jeremy Schaap released this tribute to Jared with footage from the episode that’s worth a few minutes of your time today. (Grab the tissues)

You can see the entire E:60 episode on ESPN+.

Scott Van Pelt and Stanford Steve also shared their memories of Jared on last night’s SportsCenter:

Saddest part of that for me is the footage of him in the hospital as a baby. Life is so short. I am two years younger than Jared and just experienced the birth of my first child six months ago. It was and always will be the happiest moment of my life… pure joy. I am so heartbroken for Jared’s Mom. I hope she can find comfort in the fact that she raised a great man, and that he gave her some wonderful grandkids before he said goodbye to this world. God bless Jared and his whole family.

    Well said, terwilliger.
I’ve never met this man, but his personality on the radio was infectious. This makes me unusually emotional. Much love to his family.

Thanks to Jeremy Schaap and Scott Van Pelt and ESPN for two well done features. As a Kentuckian I am grateful for the love they’ve shown him
