WATCH: Alabama football stranded on lake after boat runs out of gas

The Alabama football team may have a knack for winning on the field, but they fall short when it comes to life on the lake.

What started as a Leadership Team Lake Day meant for team bonding ended with Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide being stranded on a boat in the middle of the water.

Why? They simply ran out of gas.

Some of the Tide players posted videos on social media documenting the wild day, and they are absolutely hilarious.

It didn’t take long for Butch Jones to screw up on the job, something he did quite well at Tennessee.

Jones was hired as an off-field analyst and intern for Saban this offseason, where he will be paid $35,000 annually, a 99-percent pay decrease from his time in Knoxville.

Row Tide.

I knew Dominique Hawkins would make a football roster somewhere, just didn’t know it’d be Alabama!

“Hope” is never part of a project plan. Lack of fuel on the lake with football team = epic fail.

Laugh at Butch Jones all you want, but his humility could be a real lesson for us all.

He obviously understands he needs to improve himself and is cleaning car windows for the greatest football coach in America.

He didn’t just take his buyout and go sit on a beach somewhere or take his issues to another school, he got a job, any job he could, with one of the most successful coaches he could be around.
