Kentucky is currently tied with Ole Miss midway through the first quarter, but UK fans are fuming over an inexcusable mistake by A.J. Rose.
A fifth-year senior running back, Rose carried the ball 73 yards on Kentucky’s first play from scrimmage, only to be chased down from behind by an Ole Miss defender. Rose had a clear path to the end zone but slowed his pace to celebrate prematurely, resulting in a stop three yards shy of the end zone.

It got worse from there. Rose was stopped shy on his next attempt to punch it in, then fumbled at the goal line on his next try. One could argue he crossed the plane, but the blame falls only on Rose on this one.
The opening drive resulted in zero points.
