“Wan’Dale Robinson will be a Heisman contender” says one college football writer

It’s Tuesday, the perfect day to enjoy tacos and hot takes. Today we have something spicy to share and it’s not covered in cayenne pepper.

College football spring practices officially came to a close over the weekend, prompting many think pieces across the World Wide Web. Barring serious injuries, it’s the perfect time to feel optimistic about your team’s chances. CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee took that inch and made it last a mile with overreactions for each team across the SEC.

Even though Kentucky did not show off its new offense with a spring game, we did hear plenty of buzz (and get an hour-long SEC Network informercial). With Liam Coen installing a new scheme, Wan’Dale Robinson drew a ton of praise, prompting Sallee to state that the wide receiver will be a Heisman contender.

The Nebraska transfer and Swiss Army Knife will be the ultimate playmaker in the SEC and vault Kentucky back into SEC East contention. As a result, he’ll put himself in the Heisman race and make a push for a spot in New York as a Heisman finalist. OK, that might be too much of an overreaction. But he was the buzz of the spring in Lexington, and when combined with dual-threat quarterback Joey Gatewood — who is a big-time threat running up-the-middle — this Wildcats offense could be extremely dangerous.

It’s a hot take. He even notes it’s too much of an overreaction. We all know Wan’Dale will be good. What is somewhat telling is that Sallee is hearing the same buzz we are about Joey Gatewood. The QB competition has hardly begun, but if they needed a starter tomorrow, the former Auburn athlete would take the reins.

Now that you’ve enjoyed your spicy take, get out the guacamole and treat yourself to a taco or two (or 20).

Ya never know. He has the talent. Lot of it depends on QB play in my opinion

Please quit with the over hyping. It nearly always causes trouble.

Love it!! No such thing as overhyping at UK— any national attention is good attention and Wan’Dale Robinson will be our Randall Cobb/ Lynn Bowden homerun threat!!
