Good morning, friends. Are you in your car? You should be. UK Football Fan Day starts in one hour, and your favorite Kentucky Wildcats are already lining up at the Nutter Field House to meet you. Before you get in the car, check out these details.
Where is it? When does it start?
Nutter Field House, 9 a.m. ET. That’s where all the autograph signings will take place.
What free stuff do I get?
2015 Kentucky football posters, schedule cards, and memories that will last a lifetime
Tell me more about this autograph session.
I’ll do you one better. Here’s a map:
Assistant coaches will be seated with the position players they coach, except for offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot.
To help the autograph session lines move along, fans are asked to limit autographs to one autograph per person and to not pose for pictures with student-athletes or coaches. Autographs will end at 10:15 a.m. ET.
Fans are invited to attend an open practice at the Tim Couch Practice Fields at the Nutter Training Center that will last from approximately 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Where do I park? How do I get to the training fields?
Parking will be available in the Glenn Nissan Red Lot, Glenn Infiniti of Lexington Green Lot and Glenn Hyundai Blue Lot adjacent to The New CWS and Nutter Field House. After the autograph session, fans may either walk to the open practice or park near the Tim Couch Practice Fields, in the C8 lot behind the right-field fence of Cliff Hagan Stadium, Parking Structure 7 or the three (3) designated Employee lots on Sports Center Drive, north of Cooper.
Can I go into Commonwealth Stadium?
No. No you may not.
Nick Roush and Freddie Maggard will be at the open practice, so if you see them, please go up and say hello. Make them pose for pictures too.
Why am I not at Fan Day? Well, about thirty minutes ago, I started running the Tomato Arts Festival 5K here in Nashville, which should be interesting considering I haven’t run a 5K in two years. Hopefully I’ve finished by now and am not still panting my way up Woodland Street. Later, I’m cohosting a baby shower, which should be interesting considering I hate baby showers. Luckily, this one includes cocktails and won’t include very many baby shower-esque games. Hooray for the small things!
Other news of the day…
If you miss Fan Day and the open practice, Nick will have notes afterwards
Shoutout to our hardworking football beat writer, who has practically lived at Commonwealth Stadium and the Nutter Training Center the past few days. Check back in around 1 p.m. or so for his notes on the practice and Stoops and the offensive players’ comments about it.
2017 commits Mike Warren and James Hudson will be there
Late last night, 4-star 2017 commits and Central Catholic teammates Mike Warren and James Hudson tweeted that they’ll be at UK’s Fan Day and open practice:
Might be in Lexington tomorrow? I hope so

Enjoy yourselves, boys.
Cal talked to Wenyen Gabriel
It’s been a football heavy few days, but according to Adam Zagoria, John Calipari recently reached out to 2016 power forward Wenyen Gabriel, who got an offer from the Cats on July 26. Here’s what he told Zagoria about that conversation:
“We [me and Calipari] talk a lot. He’s one of the few schools that would like me to play on the wing. Since he can bring in a lot of big guys, he can allow me to do that so that’s kind of appealing.”
Before you get too excited about “kind of appealing,” Gabriel also said Duke is a “great fit” for him and that he liked Duke growing up, so there’s that.
Did I mention that I really, really hate that Duke is cool again?
Have you ever wondered what Ryan Lemond jumping off a houseboat in slow-mo looks like?
Wonder no more. We have footage:

If that doesn’t start the weekend off on a good note, I don’t know what will.
