While we’re all focusing on the search for UK’s new offensive coordinator job, there’s another search we may need to start worrying about. According to FootballScoop.com, Vince Marrow is a candidate for the head coaching vacancy at Youngstown State, along with six other guys I’ve never heard of.

Of course, Marrow grew up in Youngstown, Ohio with Mark Stoops, Bo Pelini, and Tim Beck, and even played basketball at Youngstown State for two years before transferring to Toledo. Marrow has reportedly turned down offers from other programs while at Kentucky, but a head coaching job in your hometown is pretty appealing.

Please, please, please don’t go.

I’m glad we didn’t hire Petrino too Paw. Philandering liars tend to look best in cardinal red. And ya know, it matches the road rash.

I’m gonna 2nd bonkrshr’s thoughts, and also add that Petrino comes with a hefty buyout clause that our recruiting coordinator and OC don’t have. catsdouche

Make him the highest paid recruiting coordinator in the country. If that doesn’t work, tack some other responsibility (even if in name only) to his title so he can be the highest paid whatever in the country.

Success in a high profile job always creates opportunities elsewhere. As long as the football team is doing a good job, there will always be doors opening. It’s Mitch’s job to keep our successful employees happy enough to stay, but there will always be some coaches moving on to reach their dreams like Neal Brown did and we should support that type of vertical move.

I agree. As long as we have coaches that are attractive to other schools, especially as head coaching candidates, it means we’re doing something right. If needed, we’ll hire another great assistant (or two) or pay Vince whatever he wants.

Aside from the Head Coach, I feel that Vince Marrow is the most important coach on this team. But who am i? I’m from the outside looking in.
