USA Today used Lane Kiffin and Kentucky in the same sentence

The University of Kentucky currently has a football coach named Mark Stoops but that in no way kept USA Today from naming Kentucky one of the eight schools that could potentially land Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin this coming winter.
There’s about a two percent chance Kiffin returns for another year under Nick Saban, so the former Vols and USC head man will be in the mix at most of the major job openings after Alabama wins the title. Kentucky could be one of those openings, according to USA Today, along with West Virginia, Arizona, NC State, Houston, San Diego State, Fresno State and Auburn.
Here’s what the website had to say about Kentucky’s prospects to ditch Stoops and hire Kiffin:
Kentucky: “Nobody is going to be a bigger rock star in Lexington than John Calipari, but Kiffin might give him a run for his money.”
Okay, first of all, there’s no way Kiffin’s celebrity could hold a candle to Calipari’s in Lexington. (Although he would be a popular man at the city’s nightlife establishments.) Not a chance. Get that thought out of your head.
And Kentucky has a head football coach, currently, so this discussion is pointless anyway.
(But it’s an interesting thought.)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
The thought of Kiffin leading UK to victory in Knoxville……very tempting. Their fans would go nuclear.
My thoughts exactly, they would absolutely loose their shit.
No what. I say yes yes yes. The coach we have isn’t worth a damn so why not get a good one if we have a chance.
Let’s just go get Derek Dooley while we’re at it.
He isn’t a good head coach. He would make us 6-6 at best while making headlines for getting drunk like Billy Gillespie. Maybe he would be a good hire as an offensive coordinator, but we need to be looking at a new defensive coordinator way before that.
Also I haven’t lost faith in Eddie Gran just yet
Blue,,,,,would you take 6-6 this year ? Thought you would. I am not a Kiffin fan but could he do any worse than what we have on the sidelines right now ? Stoops and Gran have the rest of this year so lets watch and see what happens.
How many head coaching gigs does he need to fail at before people realize he’s simply not a good head coach? Good assistant, bad head coach.
He is MUCH better than the current coach at UK. He was moderately successful as a head coach, but younger than Stoops. He is an offensive minded coach, which we need. And he has a FAR BETTER personality than Stoops which is important for recruiting. His stint at Alabama and in the pros has certainly humbled him and helped him to mature.
Personally, I would be thrilled if he replaced Stoops. The sooner the better.
Why does anyone think he would be a good head coach? Hasn’t he had chances at two other schools already? And he’s left a mess at every place he’s been. No way he comes to UK.
How has he left a “mess”? He left UT for a better job at USC and was fired too quickly when his team began to falter. USC has done nothing since. His stint with the Raiders was a disaster because the Raiders are terrible and they recruited Jamarcus Russell his first year…you think ANY head coach would have been successful with him as your starter??
Kiffin is WAY to smart to come here, Plus he could about have his pick of jobs. This is where coaches come if they want their career to die. A graveyard for coaches
Wow, man. You’ve been on a troll lately.
Trollin’, trollin’, trollin,………
This will never ever happen; if Barnhart wouldn’t take Petrino he sure wouldn’t even make an offer to Lane. Lane is not only a horrible coach that has ridden on his father coat tails his entire life, plus if you’re dying to get the program on probation than Lane your guy. He totally screwed up at the Raiders, beyond screwed up at USC, really screwed up at UT, and his offense is even horrible at Alabama. Bama is only winning on offense on talent & their defense; I honestly have no clue why Bama hired him. From the way Nick was screaming at him on the side line, he will more than likely be gone after the season.
Sure, he’s failed at 2 other schools as head coach, so let hire him here! That’s so Kentucky.
Ahhhhhh!!!! It sounds like Drew might be open to Kiffin being a viable option!?!?!
I would hire him, just so his dad could be the DC.
You’re also gay, so there’s that….
