USA Today ranks Southern Miss 45th, Kentucky 74th

A few weeks ago, CBS ranked Southern Miss 34th in the country and Kentucky 74th. This morning, USA Today’s Paul Myerberg released a similar ranking of the 128 teams in the FBS and had the Cats and the Golden Eagles in similar spots: Southern Miss 45th and Kentucky 74th.
In fact, the Golden Eagles are ranked ahead of five other SEC teams: Texas A&M (#46), Mississippi State (#55), Vanderbilt (#79), South Carolina (#84), and Missouri (#87).
Here’s where each of Kentucky’s FBS opponents ended up on the list:
#45 Southern Miss
#23 Florida
#124 New Mexico State
#84 South Carolina
#1 Alabama
#79 Vanderbilt
#55 Mississippi State
#87 Missouri
#24 Georgia
#12 Tennessee
#28 Louisville

I guess Mr. CBS and Mr. USA would be willing to give me 21 points and the CATS if they are that smart and S. Miss is that good.
Sigh…..
Don’t start crying again, wussie!!
Vegas has us at 6.5 pt favorite.
How does USA Today rank us 29 spots behind S Miss!?
Moronic.
Hard to understand , maybe it is the huge home crowd advantage….lol

Dude has a lot of different handles on here. LMFAO
Ranking college football teams in that way is extremely difficult…Southern Miss may go on to win their conference. They may win 8 or 9 games. But if they played in the SEC or ACC, they’d likely struggle to make a bowl game. Is Southern Miss REALLY 29 spots better than Kentucky? I guess we’ll see on Saturday, but my guess is no. But, at the end of the season, it’ll probably appear that way because their record will be better.
Meh, preseason rankings are worthless. According to this, UK will win 5 games (1-AA Austin Peay not listed.). I think UK will lose to Southern Miss and still win 6.
Wonder what cats paw score prediction will be, ya know, since he’s always right.
He won’t say. LOL
Does he even exist anymore?

Where do you see this improvement? I think they have had two practices thus far and played zero games! Could it just be in the homers heads? I predict South Carolina by at least 23 points. We shall see who is right!
See? Silence……. 😉
Sweet! That means the win will have a higher statistical value when we beat them this weekend!
Will it be an upset even if we are favored? lol
They look at the rankings, not the spread. #dumbass
Exactly
So, Southern MIss is better than SIX SEC teams? Maybe they should petition to join the conference; I wouldn’t mind playing them every year.
Where do they rank in the preseason basketball polls?
