BetDSI Sportsbook released updated regular season win totals this morning and has Kentucky right at six wins, ahead of only Tennessee, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt in the SEC:

A reminder of the 2018 schedule:

  • September 1: Central Michigan
  • September 8: at Florida
  • September 15: Murray State
  • September 22: Mississippi State
  • September 29: South Carolina
  • October 6: at Texas A&M
  • October 20: Vanderbilt

The schedule is a meat grinder. I am very hopeful we get 6. I can see us having a better team than last year, but the schedule will be much more difficult too.

    I see 7 total

Agree. Plus, last year showed us you really can’t know how good every team is actually going to be be. Last season’s schedule looked imposing until we were on the verge of winning 8+.

If we have only 6 wins, CMS will catch more heat than you can imagine.

Which is unfair, considering the job he’s done in the conference we are in.

How quickly people forget 2-10, 40 point Vandy losses and 0’fer in conference play….

USC is expected to be really good, UT is beatable but winning at their place is rare for us, and although UL lost Jackson, they destroyed us last year.
Story of UK foot ball retold… beat 3 nonFBS teams, beat Vandy, and pray for 2 more wins somewhere else

    8-4 lock it up

With the SEC East being tougher this year, I think it all depends if we make the same mistakes last year that probably kept us from winning vs Ole Miss and Florida. If we dont make those mistakes I think 6 or 7 wins is possible. If we still make those mistakes, then I think 5 wins can be likely.

Love to see 8-4 or 9-3 this year.

Start out 5-0 and win 4 of the last 7 games. I predict we lose @Missouri, Georgia, and @ Tennessee.

That scenario is great if you are content to just win 6. But I see at least 7 wins there. I really don’t understand the media’s love affair with USC Jr. They are a high floor/low ceiling team if there ever was one, just like their coach.

Not sure why people are scared of UL, we beat them at their place with Jackson. Tennessee is still a train-wreck. I definitely think this team is better, if we stay healthy in the key positions 7 wins are easily attainable. We may surprise a few new coaches and still another win as well.
    GO CATS !!

Unless we see VAST improvements on the DL, we’ll be blessed to win 7. I’ll wait until we play our first SEC game to pass any judgement on this teams record. I refuse to drink the blue kook-aid as I have since 1970. Those days are over for me. Oh, and I STILL have my season tickets so please refrain from the “find another team, then don’t watch, and troll” comebacks.

Things are quietly coming together on both sides of the ball. I feel this could be be a year that expectations are finally exceeded. Don’t want to jinx it by capping them with a win total but there may be some unexpected/surprise wins in there! See you at Commonwealth Stadium in September (I am never calling it Kroger Field, dammit!)

Hooray for a 6-win mediocre season…. Again. Let me guess…? The Music City Bowl? Again. Yes, I remember how abysmal our football program has been in the past, but WHY are some people happy with “ok”. If you want to compete, you strive to be the best and refuse to settle. So far all Stoops has proven is that he is definitely the best at choking when the pressure is on. I sincerely hope that we shock the world and win 9 games!!! I will admit I’m wrong and ask forgiveness, but…. we won’t. We will be looking at a 4-0 start and nothing but excuses until Stoops (hopefully) squeaks out win #6.

Yes. Stoops definitely choked when we nailed a 53 yard er to beat miss. St. And he choked even bigger when we beat the fighting Lamar jacksons two years ago. Smh. You are very, very DUMB.

I am guilty of always falling for the hype each season. I embarrassingly even got hyped when Joker was here! That nearly broke me!
Anyway, all of those games, (at this point at least) look winnable to me outside of UGA. And having them at home is at least fun to think about. CWS could be seriously bonkers during that one. And I think we win in Louisville just because we have so many really talented Seniors that will be playing their final regular season game. That would be such a great way to send them off, with a W!
Again, I’m looking through blue-tinted glasses, but I see 10 wins. I think we could beat anyone, and I think we show up for the big ones. AT Texas A&M worries me a bit, because we aren’t familiar with them at all. MSU worries me because they’ve had our number for so long now. I think we win in Gainesville. A new coach doesn’t make them THAT much better after the horrible season they just had. Same with Vols. We can win in BOTH their places. How rare is it to say that?!
    So there’s my two cents.

I hope the hype is real this season.

    Go Cats!

We beat Tennessee last year? And also should’ve beat Florida.

The 4 million dollar man will lead UK to a 4-8 record this year. That will give him a 30-44 record for his 6 years as UK head coach. He had the 2nd highest bonus package in the FBS last year behind the Arizona State coach. He was paid more last year than Kirby Smart at Georgia. The Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee head coaches had better records overall and in the conference and they are gone. I don’t see the UK coach collecting any bonuses this upcoming season with this years schedule.
