UK returned 2,500 tickets to Louisville

The University of Louisville received a gift of 2,500 game tickets to this year’s Governor’s Cup showdown when our beloved Wildcats returned tickets back to Card Nation. UK claimed 3,000 of its allotted 5,500 tickets, freeing up 2,500 seats to be sold to UofL fans.

Same thing happened two years ago when the game was in Papa John’s.

Bring it on, Red.

Let’s face it – UK sucks in football and will lose to the horrible, rotten smelling turds 24-7.

People like you make me sick! Basketball only UK fans. Anyone can support a winner. Are you a University of Kentucky fan or just a Kentucky basketball fan? You are the same type people who sit in lower Rupp eating ice cream and never cheer or stand up and get pissed at others who do. You don’t deserve to be a part of BBN if you can’t support football and all UK sports. You and people like you are a big part of the reason UK has struggled in football, no support!

    • Well.. Almost
      12:29 pm July 31, 2014 Permalink

I feel like I should clear something up for you guys because there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there (or at least, misunderstanding). UK has not sent ANY tickets back… Yet. These numbers that you see are what UK has requested based on perceived future sales. What actually happened was: UL offered about 5,000 tickets and UK said just give us about half at 2,500. Now, what this mean is the sum total UK fans that can be in that stadium that day is 2,500… IF the tickets are bought.. And in that lies the reason why UK requested half the tickets. When they don’t sell all of the 2,500 while we are limping out of another 2-10 season (I mean, who wants to pay $85 bucks to see your team get destroyed at your rivals home?) anything they don’t sell they have to send back. So the less you ACTUALLY send back, the better it looks.
TL;DR we requested half the tickets that were offered. We will probably sell half the tickets we receive. Sending back 1,000 tickets looks way better a month or so from now than sending back 4,000 tickets. So at the end of the day.. We are going to be sending back a LOT more tickets than 2,500.. More like 4,500 if you look at the real picture.

    Seriously… we deserve derision.

Why? Am I missing something here, or is the game not at the end of NOVEMBER?

    11:04 am July 31, 2014 Permalink

Why pay full price for them when they will be giving them away half way through the season at Kroger. No like a lot of ul fans are going to be there, they will be out hunting for a coach to replace their beloved bobby after they get killed by Fla. St.

I love my Wildcats and support them. However, I went to the last game at pepperoni field and do not want to go back. I don’t feel like being threatened and cursed at constantly by a bunch of hostile Louisville fans. I was concerned for my safety at various points. (And this was at a game where they won fairly big. Talk about poor winners.)

I went to the game at papa john’s, wearing full blue, not one word was said to me. Not one. Even if it was, I wouldn’t let that scare me off. Heck, I went to IU-UK bball game at bloomington, where I was basically assaulted, and I’d still go back. Why be scared? Grow a pair.

Went to the Louisville game several years ago and vowed never to go back. While one UofL fan tore our car flag off our window, another kicked and dented the door. I’d rather watch at home and know I’ll live another day.

Matt Jones could of bought all 2,500 tickets with the amount of money he’s making from UL fans clicking his website. He should’ve bought them and awarded them as prizes.

UL fans are the worst though, it’s scary going into that stadium. There’s a 95% chance that one of them will be packing a blade to stab any opposing colors that come in there. Of that 95%, there’s a 99% that none of them went to UL or any college for that matter.

I am so tired of basketball only fans making comments that put down our football team! Anyone can root for a winner! You dumbasses are part of the reason that we have sucked at football throughout most of history, because of your lack of support. You are the same people who never stand up and cheer at Rupp. The ones who sit in the high dollar seats and eat ice cream while yelling at others to sit down because you can’t see! You are all a disgrace to BBN! I better never see one of you wear a UK football shirt when we do become successful! You all just make me wanna puke riding the bball only bandwagon. You don’t deserve to enjoy bball successes without having endured years of fball heartache. I for one wish the non football UK bball supporters were not part of BBN!! Who’s with me?????

This tickets are not known to the general public. I was listening to sports talk this morning, UK fans were calling in and NO ONE but season ticket holders even knew about them. Even a bad UK team could sell 5,000 tickets. And how are grown men scared of Papa John’s football stadium? I’ve been, plus I’ve seen ul – uk basketball as well, and not one word was said to me. I cheer for the Cats, don’t try to start anything, and I’m fine. Only place I’ve had trouble on the road is at IU, and as bad as that was I’d go back in a heartbeat to support the cats.
