UK Fan of the Day Wants the Latest Bowl Projections

img_2834-1

Barring total disaster, Kentucky will become bowl eligible this weekend with a win over Austin Peay. Where will the Cats go bowling? Here’s the latest roundup of bowl projections from across the worldwide web:

The Sporting News: Music City Bowl vs. Indiana

December 30, 3:30 p.m., Nissan Stadium, Nashville TN

This is by far my favorite scenario because it takes place two miles from my house. The Big Blue Nation loves Nashville, and Nashville loves it back, and this year’s Music City Bowl takes place at 3:30 PM on Friday, December 30, perfectly setting up a New Year’s weekend in Nashvegas.

CBS Sports: Independence Bowl vs. NC State

December 26, 5 p.m., Independence Stadium, Shreveport, LA

Shreveport the day after Christmas? There are worse things, I guess. Think of the food!!!

SB Nation: Birmingham Bowl vs. South Florida

December 29, 1 p.m., Legion Field, Birmingham, AL

Birmingham? On the same day as the basketball game at Ole Miss? Please no—

Ms Tyler. It might be time to push back from the keyboard for a moment. I count five posts on the web page this morning. Let the laptop cool off for a minute.

Damn, Mrs. TT. They bitch when there’s nothing going on, and they bitch when you post relevant up-to-date articles.

Damned if ya do, damned ya don’t…..

Never said she wasn’t posting good stuff. She’s my favorite KSR writer. But she hasn’t slowed down a bit today.

As for the Birmingham Bowl….a double dip would be theoretically doable as its only a little over 3 hours from Birmingham to Oxford thanks to the new interstate from Birmingham to Memphis.

And I believe we had a basketball game overlap the last time we played down there, so don’t think that will be a determining factor.for our destination

I was in Birmingham for the 1984 HOF bowl and decided then that I would never go back for any reason. It’s not exactly a holiday vacation destination.

Went to the Joker bowl in Bham and that was not a celebratory event. So going forward, if you want to avoid Bham, which will be our best chance to win a bowl game, you go out and shock the world and beat Louisville and trip up the bowl invites. Having the worse SEC defense doesn’t bode well for that though.

Going to a bowl is the best this team could get even with only 6 wins so matters not where

Birmingham would be great. Bham has developed a really good downtown with some great bars/restaurants. It would be far enough after Christmas to not cause issues with that. And you could catch St Paul and the Broken Bones that night at the beautiful Alabama theater that night.
