Patty Ice had himself a game last night and people are noticing. This morning, ESPN’s SEC Blog handed out their helmet stickers and Pat made the cut for his incredible performance in last night’s victory over Mizzou. Here’s what they said about last night’s star:
Kentucky QB Patrick Towles: In a potentially season-defining win at home against SEC East power Missouri, it was Kentucky’s quarterback who shined brightest. Towles, who labored in a loss to Florida last weekend, came back with something to prove against the Tigers, completing 22 of 27 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran nine times for 21 yards and a score.
But wait, that’s not all. After Towles’ statement game last night, AL.com is claiming that he is one of the top five QBs in the conference:
Kentucky’s second-year starting quarterback had easily his best game of the season, if not of his entire college career, on Saturday. He completed 22 of 27 passes for 249 yards, including scoring throws to C.J. Conrad and Dorian Baker in the second half. Towles also ran for a 15-yard TD in the first half, meaning he accounted for all of the Wildcats’ offensive points. Aside from Dak Prescott and maybe Kyle Allen, Joshua Dobbs or Chad Kelly, which other quarterbacks in the league would you take over Towles?
The more I read, the more excited I get for the next game. It’s time to take down the Colonels.
Go Towles. Go Cats.
