Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Today on KSR: The Cats take on the Cards

For more than a decade, the Battle for the Governor’s Cup between Kentucky and Louisville was a Labor Day tradition.  The football game has been moved to the end of the year, but there’s still one football game around Labor Day between the Cats and the Cards.

Tonight at 7:30 the UK men’s soccer team will host No. 6 UofL at The Bell on Kentucky’s campus.  Each team is 2-0 entering the match.  You can watch the action on the SEC Network, but why watch at home when you can be in the stands for just $3?  Just use the promo code “GoCats” at Ticketmaster.

But wait, THERE”S MORE!  Once you’re in the stands, you will be eligible to win two tickets to see Justin Timberlake at Rupp Arena.  JUSTIN FREAKING TIMBERLAKE.

You can’t afford to miss the opportunity to see the Cats crush the Cards.  For more information on the match-up and the outstanding offers by UK Athletics, click here.

Rick Pitino’s Book is Released

The moment Drew Franklin has been waiting for is finally here.  Pitino: My Story is available for public consumption.  If you want to be the first to hear “the real story” from lyingest liar who ever lied, Amazon has you covered.  (Or you can just wait for KSR’s Dramatic Reading.)

The Streak SZN

It’s all anyone will be talking about all week.  Yesterday Mark Stoops and Dan Mullen shared their thoughts.  Marcus Spears and Greg McElroy had a few things to say about Saturday’s game as well.

Bulletin Board Material

We have at least one Florida Gator who has guaranteed a win.  After 31 straight victories, the trash-talk is much more substantiated than Jonathan Ward’s preseason smack talk.  Still, I have a feeling Chauncey Gardner-Johnson will regret his words when Benny Snell is running in his direction on Saturday.

Podcast SZN

A pair of new podcasts will be recorded today.  Up first, I’ll be in the studio with T.J Walker on Hardly Committed as we bust into season two of The Office after some UK basketball recruiting talk.  Once the sun goes down, The KSR Football Podcast is getting wild with UK’s all-time leading scorer.  In-between celebratory dabs, send all of your questions for each podcast @RoushKSR on Twitter.

While you’re waiting for those to hit the feed, check out the college football week one recap on the Aaron Torres Sports Podcast.

A Media Opp with the Offense

Eddie Gran, Terry Wilson and the rest of UK’s offense will meet with the media this evening to talk about what went wrong in the season-opener, and how they plan on improving ahead of the road trip to Florida.

Campaign SZN

So is he a Kentucky or a Louisville fan?  The citizens of Leitchfield must decide.

Wow, McElroy is an idiot. I must have missed Terry going down in the 4th quarter and Gunnar coming in to win the game and put it away. Coulda swore that happened in the 2nd quarter and Wilson finished up the game in half of the 3rd and all of the 4th quarter. Guess I watched a different game.

He doesn’t care about either school unless it gets him a vote. Typical politician.

I agree with notfromhere our journalism is fading fast most sports reporters are either on espn or one of the other sports networks or have been on there or have or starting a podcast. Instant news is what we want and we dont want to read about it we want to here it read to us. And if you dont agree with their opinion well we are idiots according to them. Time they have changed and in most parts it sucks.
