Today on KSR: Gameday in Columbia

The Vibes in Columbia

There’s a buzz in the atmosphere.  Optimistic South Carolina fans are prepared to create an atmosphere Williams-Brice has not seen in a long time.  The toughest ticket in years, there will be almost 15,000 students in the stands for the sold out blackout.  Their optimism is almost to the point of arrogance, and unfortunately, many Kentucky fans are starting to believe them.  The good news: expert picks and fan sentiment does not determine what happens on the final scoreboard.

Gameday Itinerary

  • 4:30 — The KSR Pregame Show is LIVE from Lexington
  • 5:00 —  Alumni Association Pregame Tailgate at Seawall’s
  • 5:15 — The Cat Walk (probably around the North End of the stadium; I’ll keep you posted @RoushKSR.)
  • 5:30 — Countdown to Kickoff with Freddie Maggard & Christi Thomas at the Richmond Rd. Kroger
  • 7:30 — Kickoff on the SEC Network

The Cats will be without Jordan Jones

Even though the fantastic graphic from UK Athletics has me ready to see Jones take on the Gamecocks, Kentucky will be without the elite linebacker tonight.  The man charged to replace the All-SEC performer is Eli Brown.  Learn more about the former high school all-american here.

How to Watch/Listen

The Cats and the Gamecocks will have the prime time TV slot on the SEC Network with Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers and Cole Cubelic on the call.  Here’s where you can find America’s favorite television channel…

  • Cable: 516, 517
  • AT&T UVerse: 607, 1607
  • DirecTV: 611
  • Dish: 408

If you’re stuck on the road and can’t watch, there are multiple ways to listen to Leach and Piecoro.

  • AM: 840 WHAS, 630 WLAP
  • FM: 98.1 WBUL
  • Satellite: XM-191 and Sirius-138
  • Online: iHeart Radio

Podcast Prep

You’ve got a long time to wait for kickoff.  Help pass the time by checking out a plethora of KSR podcasts.  They are all fantastic, but never have I ever had my mind blown by Freddie Maggard quite like this.  He brought unprecedented analysis to The Depth Chart Podcast.  You can’t miss it.

Zion Williamson will be in Attendance

The YouTube sensation and high school basketball superstar will make the short drive from Spartanburg to take an unofficial visit to South Carolina.  It will not be easy for Frank Martin to keep perennial powerhouse programs away from Zion, but tonight’s amazing atmosphere is not a bad tool to try to keep him home.

Everything about that sign is perfect. Rubs the loss in UofL’s face and advertises one of Big Daddy John’s main competitors.

Anyone else going to game tonight? Living in Georgia, this game was just a couple hours away.

SC fans are always arrogant for no reason. I mean they are decent but it’s not like they’ve beat anyone good yet. And they’ve never won a national title in football or basketball!
