Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Today on KSR: Batter Up

Yes, that’s a Cardinal bird on his helmet.

All work and no play is no fun.  Mark Stoops understands that, and that’s why the Kentucky football team celebrated the beginning of the summer season with a crawfish boil.  After hearing a seminar on brand development, the team hit the practice field to toss corn hole, play wiffle ball and enjoy some of Louisiana’s finest crawfish.  As you’ll see, Stoops doesn’t have a bad swing.

C.J. Conrad was able to get in on the action.  The All-SEC tight end’s season ended early last year when he broke his foot at Georgia.  The rehab appears to have worked.  Conrad had no trouble sprinting to first base to beat out a throw.

Speaking of baseball…

Kentucky had the Most MLB Draft Picks

The Kentucky baseball failed to make the postseason, but they successfully put 13 players into the Major Leagues.  That’s right, THIRTEEN Kentucky Wildcats were selected in the MLB Draft, more than any other college program.  The 21 picks over the last two seasons are also an NCAA best.  Some of this year’s later selections will likely return to school.  Trey Huntsman will break down those decisions in the near future.

KD is the Worst

And LeBron is the best.

I know Durant’s Warriors won a game three that basically ended the series, thanks to his 43 points and decisive three-pointer with less than a minute to go, but that doesn’t mean I still can’t hate KD.  He ruined a fun rivalry between the Cavs and the Warriors by joining the team he couldn’t beat.  He waited to show up until Steph Curry played his worst game.  Durant shortened the basketball season in consecutive years and he’s the reason Red Panda can’t even stay on her unicycle.

The Women’s Track Team Runs in the National Championship

Tonight at 7:00 on ESPN2 you’ll see Kentucky’s 4×100 relay team begin their quest for a national title.  Sydney McLaughlin, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Kayelle Clarke and Kianna Gray won the inaugural National Relays Championship last month.  Tune in to see if they can defend their title.

On the men’s side, Tim Duckworth leads the decathlon after the first day of events in Oregon.  He is five events away from bringing home a National Championship. You can watch him do work on Watch ESPN, beginning at 1:00 ET.

What a Louisville Fan

This Cardinal fan buzzing around downtown Louisville yesterday.  His over-the-top ensemble is ridiculous, but impressive.  That kind of dedication commands respect, especially while rocking socks with sandals.

Yes, that’s a Cardinal bird on his helmet.

The KSR Summer Tour is in Bowling Green

Come see the gang at Chaney’s Dairy Barn for two exciting hours of Kentucky Sports Radio.

Don’t know if you forgot, but Lebron was the first to “ring chase” along with Chris Bosh. Nonetheless, it is the reason I can’t root for KD or Lebron

Lebron joined 2 others on an entirely new team. Ring chasing? Yes, but not as aggregious as KD. He had the warriors beat in game 7, then lost them the game playing hero ball. Once he realized he was a mental beta he packed his ball and went to the team he couldn’t beat. If you can’t tell I really don’t like KD lol

As Vin Diesel said, winning is winning, and ring chasing is ring chasing. I don’t like KD for the ring chasing as much as I don’t like Lebron for it

Everybody should be chasing the ring…or do they just play for money ?

Every Warriors win gets me one game closer to not hearing about LeBron anymore this season. Yeah, KD kind of ring chased there, but he just plays ball instead of crying about something every single time down the court.

Also, good call on having a crawfish boil for the football team. Impressed by the coaching Stoops was giving that player on how to peel crawfish. I just can’t imagine how many mud bugs it would take to feed a football team, though.

In Degrees of Ring Chasing, KD’s was much worse! The Warriors were already a great team that had already won a championship without him.

Sorry more impressed with Durant’s 30FT three point dagger. LeBron is 6’9 and dunked a basketball not a big deal. As far as ring chasing that exactly what LeBron has done since his Miami days, he came back to Cleveland after they were stacked with Kyrie and Wiggins.

Got this all wrong Nick. The Cavs being so terrible are to blame for the drop in competition. The Western Conference playoffs were actually pretty competitive, and you could argue the Rockets were the best team with Paul. The Rockets would have done the exact same thing to the Cavs in the finals. The Eastern Conference is as bad as it’s ever been. The Celtics and Cavs would have been like 5 or 6 seeds if in the Western Conference and out in the first round.

Exactly! Not the Warriors fault for the Cavs being a really flawed team and the east sucking.

Do you blame Durant for not wanting to play with Westbrook?? I sure don’t! Where would it have been ok for him to go then?? Maybe he likes the guys and the brand of basketball they play? Maybe because they win and have fun? How dare him wanting to enjoy playing and winning!

I like Lebron but as impressive as that looked…
It was just yet another no call traveling violation.

Who does not want to win a championship? If your resume is good enough, you can call those shots. If not, then you dance with who brought you.
Neither a LeBron or KD fan. But who cares?
