The 2016 Kentucky Football Schedule is Released

UK Athletics

UK Athletics

The first half of the schedule is going to be tough, but from an overall standpoint, it’s pretty even with the season split in half at Week 7.

  • Week 1: Southern Miss at UK
  • Week 2: UK at Florida
  • Week 3: New Mexico State at UK
  •  Week 4: South Carolina at UK
  • Week 5: UK at Alabama
  • Week 6: Vandy at UK
  • Week 7: Bye
  • Week 8: Miss. State at UK
  • Week 9: UK at Mizzou
  • Week 10: Georgia at UK
  • Week 11: UK at Tennessee
  • Week 12: Austin Peay at UK
  • Week 13: UK at UofL

What makes the first half more difficult then the second is a trip to Alabama, but the second half does have four physical SEC games in a row.  Unlike recent years, this is the most balanced schedule I can ever recall.

LOL…. 5-7 would be an optimistic guess, but 7-5 is just crazy talk.

Austin Peay and New Mexico State are two of the worst teams in the country. Games with Southern Miss, South Carolina, Vandy and Mizzou are winnable. I think Loserville is on the down slope but it will be there. Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia are probably no for sure. Mississippi State loses a lot so who knows. Kentucky will be improved but how much? I think they could win 7.

On the down slope? I sure hope you are right. I would like to beat them this decade. Unfortunately, Their true freshman QB is putting up numbers never before seen at that school. Kid is going to be good down the line. I hope we get them this year because I think it is going to get increasingly difficult with him under center. I trust in patty this year though. Should be close.

The numbers I see them putting up are addng up to a losing record

numbers they are putting up? That young man is rushing 100s of yards and throwing multiple touchdown passes a game. Kinda wish he wore blue honestly.
I wish they would have a losing record but their schedule gets a hell of a lot easier as ours gets a hell of a lot harder. I think last weekend was the turning point for the season.

    I see 8-4 at minimum.
    Wins are weeks 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13
    Toss ups weeks 2, 10, 11
    Probable loss week 5
Don’t think of MSU as this years team, they will lose a ton and we won’t. Toss ups at UF we have been close for 2 years so maybe they can get them in 2016. Weeks 10-11 at Tenn will be tough there but UGA at home, who knows as they could have some major changes coming.

Another struggle to get 6 wins outa that. Will have to beat Vandy and @Louisville most likely. 5 very do-able wins there. The hard part is getting the 6th one.

  9. Tougher

the 2nd half is tougher. We play 4 home games and should be favored in all 4 of those in the 1st half of the season. We could be the underdog in 2 of 3 home games in the 2nd half. We won’t be the favorite in any away game. Hope for 7-5, be okay with 6-6

    Southern Miss at UK (win)
    UK at Florida (likely loss)
New Mexico State at UK (win)
    South Carolina at UK (win)
    UK at Alabama (loss)
    Vandy at UK (Win)
    Miss. State at UK (50/50)
    UK at Mizzou (50/50)
    Georgia at UK (possible win)
    UK at Tennessee (likely loss)
    Austin Peay at UK (win)

I’m assuming another year of improvement. We lose some on defense, but we are replacing with a significant upgrade in talent. We have a lot of redshirts this year.

Worst case scenario would be 5-7 with 6-6 or 7-5 more likely. MSU and Mizzou should both be very beatable next year.
    Week 13: UK at UofL

I have been really down this year on the coaching and play of this team this year. Cats have lots of talent that has been poorly coached but next year I really believe those problems will be ironed out. If the Cats do not win 7 or 8 next year then Stoops and staff may need to polish their resumes.

What? 8 wins and they will rename something for stoops. I see 7 wins possible. Right now we will do well to get to 6 this year so we can go to a bowl game. @UT @Al @ UF are all likely losses. @ UL @Mizzu, MSU and GA @ home 50/50. splitting the 50/50 and winning 5 more puts us @ 7 wins. IT would take 1 major upset to get to 8-4

No doubt the Bama game is the most dificult but it does not make the first half more dificult. It is only one game. We will likely be favored in 4 of the first 6 and possibly 1-3 in the bottom half. The bottom is half measurably more dificult.
