Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

That was hard to watch.

uk-uga

Your University of Kentucky Wildcats went down to Georgia for their final road contest of the season and the outcome was, well, bad. It was really bad. The Bulldogs won 59-17 in a game that was never even close. Kentucky trailed 21-0 eight minutes into the game and it never got any better for the Cats.

Georgia’s Andy Murray left the game with a severe leg injury, but not before throwing for 183 yards and four touchdowns. His backup, Hutson Mason, threw for another 189. Both opposing quarterbacks had more passing yards than UK.

Jalen Whitlow was knocked out of the game for UK, leaving Max Smith to finish it out. If there’s one bright spot for the Wildcats, it’s Dyshawn Mobley’s 69-yard touchdown run. That’s about it.

More on the way…

Pitiful. It sucks when you look at other scores around the country and FCS schools put up better efforts than UK. I know it will get better, but damn.

Don’t lose faith in Stoops, he’s turning this thing around slowly but surely. I can only hope that he gets the time he needs because this coaching staff will be the one to turn it around if anyone will ever do it and they deserve the time to do it. We can’t go anywhere but up after this. I love this coaching staff and have faith, it’s going to be hard to compete after already starting the season with such a depleted roster then after you factor in the injuries and suspensions you can’t expect much better from the team.

You’re blinded by your love of UK and your optimism is unfounded. Stoops is horrible, can’t coach. I have yet to see him coach a game, all he does is stand on the sideline and complain to the refs if there is a bad call. See him wearing a headset? I haven’t yet. He has no clue what’s going on during a game and apparently can’t coach up kids as they have done the same this year as last – regress from the beginning of the season to the end. We just go backwards, no improvement, none.

Your comments are based on the notion that Stoops knows what he’s doing. I’m not convinced he or the assistant and position coaches know what they are doing. If not, they can bring in as much talent as they want, they will still underachieve.

I bet Stoops wished he was still at FSU with a championship team. Hell I wish he was still at FSU with a championship team. Expect to see tumbleweeds whistling through the stands at Commonwealth next week. Go Cats!!

it’ll be worth it when he never has to work another day in his life with all the money he’ll make in his buyout in three more years. he wouldn’t be able to say that if he was still at FSU.

Anyone you thought at the beginning of the season we had a chance of beating a good team this year was nuts. Reality: We had no chance at all this year; we have at the most maybe 5 decent players on the whole team. We have to be the worst team Stoops has ever been associated with maybe in his entire life. Just imagine how much worse things would be at this moment if Joker was still our coach.

Worse? It can’t get worse, Stoops is a repeat of Joker – both suck HARD. I don’t recall anyone saying we would beat a good team, but at least improve enough to be somewhat competitive. Losing to better talent is acceptable, losing because you’re still making the same bone headed stupid idiotic mistakes you’ve made for the past two years is not. Shut the program down, it’s done. At least pay off some talented kids and make it exciting for the fans. Might as well get the death penalty, feels like we have already.

“Oh Boy”, I agree with you, this team isnt getting any better it’s the same old thing as Joker had.

If I was a recruit I wouldnt come here, why would you, I mean be honest.

And whoever named this post “this is hard to watch”, I dont know why you would say that, its the same ole, same ole for the last 60 years and beleive it or not I am a UK fan just not of the football team, its a disgrace for the state and the school.

This is no different than most of the KY games over the last 50 years! If you want change, you need to give Stoops and Company at least 5 years before you see a dramatic change. If this staff can not get it done at KY, then it will never happen! It took Howard ten years at Louisville and they were about the same as we are right now. There is no quick easy fix! Time and hard work will get it done. I hope everyone comes out to the TN game to support this staff. It is our only hope of ever being good in football.

Couldn’t agree more. We as a fan base and program have to give this staff the time to get it done, which I agree they deserve at least 5 years. This is the staff to get it done and if they can’t then I have little hope anyone can. We’ve sure as hell got nothing to lose by giving them all the time they need

I’m all for UK leaving the SEC. This is going to be the second season in a row we haven’t won a conference game. That’s embarrassing. Leaving for the ACC would make for a much better basketball schedule, and a chance to compete in football. Next year’s football recruiting class will likely be one of the best we’ve ever had on paper, but to put that in perspective: it’s only going to be good enough for a top 6 or 7 class in the SEC.

Your comments are based on the notion you know what you’re talking about. Joker left such a hollow core that we dont have the depth, nor talent, to compete. You have to call the plays that your team can make, not the ones you hope they will. Will Muschamp has top 50 recruits and his record is barely better than ours. Stoops is coaching up whats left of a ragged team, rebuilds take a few years. Go be a bandwagon fan another team if you hate UK so much.

We have some really unknowledgeable football fans leaving ignorant comments here about Stoops and his staff. If any of you watched our team play last year, it was quite obvious that we had very few players that were SEC caliber. Why in the world do you think this would change overnight. We simply do not have the talent to compete yet. If you look at the most talented players on this team, nearly all are first year. (Kemp, Timmons, Badet, Blue, Z.Smith,Montgomery, Hatcher, etc.) Stoops has the top rated class we have ever had committed for next season yet some of you are ready to give up on him. Those are likely fans who never stepped on a football field in their life!

Absolutely agree, I know from someone connected with the program who said the coaches were amazed at how bare the team was, almost a down div II school.

You all have no clue how depleted this team was, and how bad of shape Joker left it in. You can’t get blood from a turnip, and you cant take Div-II-III kids and turn them into Alabama. If you all were so good at coaching you’d be coachibg not sitting on your ass watching the games. Have some faith.

    Drew,
How bout a Quart of good shine to forget last night. We have talked about this last year and I stated that we don’t have any leadership on the field. Jalen is not a dual threat quarterback. At best he might start at receiver or running back for a school like Murry St. Not being disrespectful. And Max Smith has never been able to get past the injuries he has had. There were times he had people open and time to get the ball to them but instead ate it. He is way to slow making a play. Like both are gun shy. And neither has ever been a leader for this team. Look at Murry for Ga. a leader. The boy at SC Conner a leader. The one at Bama. A leader. After Jalen fell down instead of running and he cannot throw the ball and Max missed some oppotunities, The whole team laid down. They were only going through the motions. Not even trying to tackle or hit a man. No Pride or Heart. Maybe and hopefully Drew Barker will be a leader. Not to second guess the coaching staff but either Patrick Towes or the other quarterback would have shed his red shirt. They couldn’t have done any worse. I mean 4 quarterbacks and you stick with 2 that are just plain pitiful. Just sayng Drew .

Have a great Thanksgiving and as always I hate those filthy cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
