We’ll always have that fake field goal.
Unfortunately, that was one of the few highlights of Kentucky’s 27th straight loss to Florida. Kentucky kept it close in the first quarter, but that was about it. The dual-QB system prevented the Cats from finding any kind of flow offensively, and as a result, its best play came from Joe Mansour, who scored the Cats’ lone touchdown on a fake field goal.
Maxweel Smith was 12/21 for 90 yards and one interception. Jalen Whitlow was 5/7 for 35 yards. Joe freaking Mansour led the team in rushing, with 25 yards and one touchdown. Just read that again. As expected, Florida’s defense was stellar, and backup QB Tyler Murphy and RB Matt Jones ran all over the Cats, with a final score of 24-7.
Hang tight, because we’re going to talk about this some more.
