Tennessee now favored by 8.5 points

The money must be coming in on the Tennessee Vols to cover the spread Saturday because the line has shifted an entire point since Monday. The spread for the UK-UT game opened at 7 or 7.5, depending who you ask, and now it’s at 8.5 in favor of the Vols, according to

The betting public may like Tennessee, but we here at KSR are smelling an upset brewing on Halloween.

Can’t see us beating them, hopeful but doubtful. Can’t pressure the quarterback, has all the time he needs to throw or run. I know nothing about the game but you can’t give the other team that much time to throw or you are beat.

Agreed. Also our receivers have got to hold onto the ball and the line needs to block for Towles.

The Tennessee defensive front is too big and fast and the backers may be some of the most athletic in the SEC. I don’t see Towles having time to even find his receivers. I think its going to be worse than last week.

Honestly, this is a matchup of two teams that have one or two complete games, but mostly they are both very inconsistent. both have lost multiple games they should have won. Both have blown significant leads in games Both have self-inflicted wounds to blame for most of their losses.

It’s going to come down to which team self-destructs more than the other. Honestly. If the Cats can just not implode as bad as UT, they will win.

You obviously know nothing bout SEC football. UT will just manhandle our front lines and dominate this game. Guess you didn’t see Bama struggle against UT did you?

If they could put together 4 qtrs of consistency they can win but they’ve yet to show us they can do that. Come on CATS and prove us all wrong and pull off the win Saturday.

Really dude do you not know that a team that is consistently inconsistent is one that is poorly coached.

Drew, I don’t what you all are “smelling” at KSR, but I think it must be illegal. Don’t see our coaches being able to game plan for a running qb. Never question Vegas. A friend once told me before I went out there, “they don’t have all those fancy buildings and free buffets because they are losing money”.

The spread isn’t a prediction. Vegas isn’t saying, in its infinite wisdom, that UT will now win by one more point, for some reason. It’s simply trying to balance the betting on UT and UK. If the bets are balanced, Vegas makes money regardless of what happens or why. Vegas isn’t in the business of making bets. It’s in the business of collecting the vig from people who do.

The spread is essentially an opinion poll of the betting public: the guy down the street, a coworker, those fans, these fans, habitual gamblers, drunk uncle, the desperate, the delusional, fools like you and me. There’s nothing scientific about it.

scientifically speaking, teams that are favored 7.5-10 pts win about 75% of the time

Take the points and UT, should be an easy cash for you just like I called it before the MSU game. Should be a very similar game, and UT has a healthy secondary, so could get real ugly. 41-17 Vols. And that’s being generous on the 17, a touchdown may come late in garbage time. Georgia will be a 20pt loss as well, the 3rd one in a row. With our QB and O-Coordinator combo, this will continue to happen. At least we’ll look good in our black uni’s.

AGREE totally. Cats have zero line play on each side of the ball and a coaching staff still learning how to coach. Dawson may be the worst pick at OC ever. Also whoever are the line coaches need replaced before next year or ASAP. Hard to believe that this team with the best talent maybe ever ( except at QB ) cannot play and win with the weakest SEC ever in my lifetime. Coaching on this team is borderline inept.

All hail Nostradamus! Or is it the Amazing Criswell? Would you believe … Carnac the Magnificent? How about a girl scout with a Magic 8 Ball?

There’s no gambler Vegas loves more than the insufferably opinionated, those who are convinced they’ve got it all figured out.

We’re beginning to see the negative nabobs come out of the woodwork, emboldened by last week’s loss. For far too many fans, the most recent data point defines the future. Silly rabbits.

Dear Megan, I love my Cats and would love to see them succeed in football. After game one and barely pulling out a win against a really pathetic team I have been critical of this team and the coaching, especially the coaching. Stoops has done terrific getting the best talent at UK maybe ever, but his assistant coaches ,OC, DC, and both line coaches and special teams coach have not done anything close to earning their pay. To much talent to struggle every game and have to go into overtime to beat EKU of all teams who should have won the game. Last weeks game was a done deal and no surprise at all and I called that game that way 5 days before they played. Having an opinion is my right as it is yours and if I seem negative well just look at what this team has done all year and it is hard, real hard to be optimistic.

You should stop watching, Rest. Its obvious your fragile emotions can’t handle it.

Auburn was preseason ranked #6, but beat UK and Louisville (UofL easier than us, with “mastermind” Petrino leading the way). That same team also went to overtime with Jacksonville State. I guess Gus Malzahn sucks in your eyes too, huh? Calm down.

Learn the difference between them. Its the language we speak and write every day.

Towles has got to keep Kentucky on offense to keep Vols offense off the field. Field goals will not beat Tenn.

Please don’ let the Tennessee record fool you, this is one of the most talented teams in the SEC. This game may be close for a quarter but after that, it could get real ugly.
