Take a look at the new 1865 Club tailgating units

1865

Kentucky’s new luxury tailgating units have made their way to Commonwealth Stadium and they’re ready to be inhabited by football fans willing to spend a little more coin on their Saturday experience.

The 1865 Club suites, named for the year UK was established, are now available for full-season and single-game rentals. Prices range from $30,000 for all seven home games or $5,000 for a single Saturday.

Each tailgating unit offers a living area, a kitchen, four HD TVs, a full-size refrigerator and a half bath, as well as an outdoor area with a television, refrigerator and awning. The units can accommodate up to 30 people each game day in the grass outside Gate 9 in the southwest corner of CWS.

A standard menu is included and additional food can be ordered from catering. Booze can be pre-ordered and stocked prior to your Saturday arrival. All you have to do is show up and everything is ready to go.

Have a look at the new next-level tailgating in Lexington:

Considering I just bought a parking pass off Craigslist I’m going to have to say that I am officially out on this one. Damn, that would be nice!

I guarantee some of these will be rented by our opponents…such as when a Georgia or Florida comes to town.

I fundamentally don’t understand this. These people aren’t actually tailgating, they are just renting a crappy studio apartment near the field for a pre-game party. You could rent a much nicer and bigger place and get a shuttle bus (or Uber) to take you to and from the game for about the same price.

  10. Mathlete
    1:56 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

So it’s basically renting a tinyhouse for a day for half the price of buying one forever… I think I’d rather buy one and have it built on a trailer, then get a parking pass in the RV lot and drag it in for gamedays

    Big Blue Shawn – SHHHHHHHHH

If no one talks about it then it’s like it didn’t happen. But it did happen and Willis will likely be looking for a new school to play ball. Either that or it’ll go the way of his DUI and Ashley Lowrys DUI.

    • Big Blue Shawn
      2:03 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

I seriously hope this isn’t true. But if it is, I think he will face a harsh punishment. I have to think Matt has at least heard about this rumor.

    • J-Dub421
      2:07 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

Willis didn’t get a DUI because you have to be actually driving to get a DUI. He got a PI. Learn the difference.

If Willis was out drinking at 2 Keys, I really don’t care because he’s a 21 year old college student. If you have some further information, then spill it. Otherwise, go away and be quiet.

    • Big Blue Shawn
      2:10 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

Goes beyond drinking. Supposedly, got into it with two women, poured beer on them and stole their purses.

J-Dub you’re a moron. First, no you do not have to be driving to get a DUI. You only have to either be sitting behind the wheel, OR there only has to be strong evidence that you were driving. The evidence was clear. He got off bc he’s a Uk Bball player.

And what happened at Two Keys last night was just stated by Big Blue Shawn. That’s Battery, and it’s Robbery. If any of the women decide to press charges then he’ll be arrested and have his day in court, as he should. But whether they file charges or not, it doesn’t make what happened any less true. Willis did this. That’s pretty much fact at this point.

    • Kernel Sanders
      2:44 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

Lol, “pretty much fact” because 2 anonymous posters on a fan blog say so? Links to legitimate news sources? Anyone?

    • J-Dub421
      2:57 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

Learn to use the “reply” button before you call someone else a moron.

Willis was outside of the car, so how do you know he was driving? Were you there? No, you weren’t, so you have only rumors and speculation. If Willis had be driving, he would have hit one of the parked cars on the street because he was too drunk to even stand upright in the video. The cars were all untouched. Also, according to later news a friend drove but couldn’t lift him or his girlfriend out of the car, so she took the keys and left them there outside of her house.

As far as whatever may or may not have happened at 2 Keys last night, I don’t know. I wasn’t there and I’m willing to bet that you weren’t there either. So, once again you are stating unsubstantiated rumors and speculation as fact. That is foolish. I will reserve judgment for when or if any actual information comes out.

    Are you really that dumb?
You said someone else was driving? Watch the video. The DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS OPEN and he was laying right outside of it. His girlfriend was in the passengers seat.
So, if someone else was driving that night, that means that they stuck the 6’9 guy in the back seat instead of the passengers seat. 6’9 people don’t fit in the back seat.
AND, if the he was in the back seat, he would have had to crawl over the front seats, open the drivers door, and then get out that door. Again, not only does that not make any sense but it is nearly freakin impossible for a 6’9 person to do. The guy drove, he got out and passed the hell out, and he got away with it.
Lastly, to the idiot calling me a UL fan, which is typically what happens here every time someone doesn’t toe the company line, I AM A UK ALUM, which is more than I can guarantee you 95% of the people that frequent this board can say. Just bc I’m tired of Derrick Willis embarrassing this program, with no consequence, doesn’t mean I’m a UL fan. Get a grip on yourself.

    • J-Dub421
      3:47 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

      It’s Derek, not Derrick.
I’m a UK alum too. What do you want a cookie? Everyone thinks you’re a U of L fan because all you do is post negative crap about UK players/coaches, etc. You also defend U of L all the time. Scorpiocard also claims to be a UK alum and is clearly a U of L fan.

From an article on WDRB, “Major Tom Scheben, a spokesperson for the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, said in an email that Willis was not charged with DUI because he was “lying in the street, thus no evidence whatsoever he was driving.””

Also, as far as not putting someone that tall in the back seat… The police sure didn’t seem to have any trouble with getting him into the back of a cruiser. He fit just fine.

    • Booby Petrino
      3:50 pm August 23, 2016 Permalink

you mad bro? Every post you make on here is something negative about UK, that’s why people (including myself) accuse you of being a troll. It’s understandable to have some negative things to say, but all negative is just trolling. I am a UK graduate, btw, class of 1999.

Derrick’s dad said someone else was driving too, so I guess he’s an idiot. No, I guess he’s just a liar protecting his son, right? There is no way that could possibly be true, huh? No matter your opinion, it is just that…an opinion. You don’t know the truth so to call someone names just bc they aren’t convicting him is silly.

You know what’s fun? When we post negative things about UL, knowing that UK has had their fair share of employees with run ins with the law, and UL fans are going to easily point all of them out with a 3sec Google search. It may be wise to not expose our own glass house.

      Uk is my alma-mater.
But I live in Louisville. Unfortunately my alma-mater has a sports fanbase where the vast majority never went to college and therefore cannot conseptualize the difference between sports and real-life.

Well, we know that the BOT at UL had many UK fans on it, including the person that was leaking info to Matt. Now Junior Bridgeman is in charge of the hiring of the new BOT. Junior will certainly be putting together an Athletics Friendly Board and I can’t imagine that being a big UK fan will be finding themselves as part of the group. You think Jurich has had power before? Just wait till he lobbies his people onto the BOT. Facilities and money for coaching is getting ready to go through the roof.

Why all the butthurt? Forde said Cal owned the draft, which is a huge deal for recruiting as was just stated. And then he simply made the true comment that owning draft day every single year doesn’t equate to National Championships. That’s a fact. Why are you all so sensitive about it?

Wait… Rick isn’t allowed to use plausible deniability but Calipari is? At UMass they were cheating on grades to keep guys eligible which is an on campus issue, had agents buying HOOKERS and jewelry and giving cash to Camby ON CAMPUS, at Memphis he had Roses brother ON THE PLANE right in front of his face, and they had players busted for PROSTITUTES, and they had players busted for starting riots, and they had players busted for drugs, and on and on and on and on and on. But now Cal is not the same guy that had banners removed at two places? I’m confused.

What did he say that was incorrect? Looks like his opinion is backed up by the facts surrounding Cal’s tenure at UMass. Like it or not, before he got to UK, Cal ran two completely rogue programs in UMass & Memphis. The amount of crime, NCAA issues, legal problems, drug problems, domestic abuse problems, etc, far outweighed the norm, and outshined the winning. Just bc it doesn’t appear that he runs the same type of program at UK, shouldn’t dismiss the pathetic programs that proceeded. Even our own Matt Jones called him out before the title game at Memphis, and he was completely justified in doing so.

17 points? I’ll take So Miss and give you 2 to 1 odds.

They’re a better team. They may not win since it’s a road game but there’s no way in hell they lose by 17 points.

Anyone that thinks 7 wins was going to happen is absolutely out of their freakin mind, over the top, blinders on.

This team is a 3-4 win team against this schedule.

      The only wins are:
      NM St
      Missouri
      Austin Peay
      Possible wins:
      Southern Miss
      South Carolina

The rest are absolute losses with no questions about it whatsoever.

And if there are a couple of injuries at certain spots it’s gonna be a 2 win season.

Kentucky football is in the dumpster.

Every post you make disses UK and/or defends ul.

      Begone, now.

First, these things are embarrassing to look at from the pictures. $5000 for one game? I can think of a lot of things to spend $5000 on and a trailer in the stadium parking lot is not on the list. Maybe more impressive in person, idk. To me, I could see this being a huge pain in the ass fending off drunk idiots that need/want to use your bathroom. Guess if you’ve got that kind of money you could hire someone to guard the door
