Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Stop what you’re doing and listen to the Chester/Darryl debate about UK Football

This morning, KSR may have pulled off our best fifteen minutes of radio ever. With fan frustrations high, we brought in two passionate KSR callers to discuss what’s going on with the football program: Chester and Darryl. Chester represents the eternal UK football optimists, who believe in Mark Stoops and think the team can turn it around and make a bowl this season. Darryl represents the growing faction of UK football fans who are sick and tired of getting their hopes up and being let down and think something needs to change, even if it means getting rid of Stoops.

The two squared off in a battle of blind faith vs. rational analysis, and it was radio gold. There were references to Obama and George Washington, and Darryl even accused Chester of “kissing Mark Stoops’ rear” when he called in to his radio show on Monday. I won’t give it away, but he calls him something else later that may having you covering the kiddos’ ears.

Stop what you’re doing and listen:

Our panel of judges was split over who won the debate, with Shannon and Ryan picking Darryl and Maria and Matt picking Chester. Shannon put up a poll on Twitter to decide the winner, and 52% of the vote went to Chester, who will receive two tickets to Big Blue Madness.

If anything, he should win for this line alone:

“It was George Washington or somebody in this country that said that a nation that is divided, his house will fall down on top of it and crush the people inside of it.”

It’s that danged ol’ Obama’s fault. Good grief. No wonder the rest of the country makes fun of Kentucky.

Simply the ‘dumbing down’ of America, er, aaaa, I mean Kentucky. If your IQ is below 65, enjoy.

Had an employee that took a group tour to Hawaii, and they went to the Arizona Memorial….she was quite impressed, but when she returned, she asked me “Why did we bomb Pearl Harbor”? Whoooosh!

The U.K. defense is disorganized. In the New Mexico State game there were players running to their positions after being on the field for several plays and not in position at the snap! What is this? I hear idiots talk about Stoops needing 5 years. Did Joker deserve 5 years? I guess Mitch is racist…………………

Please, Loved Joker but he wasn’t getting any recruits and another year would have only hurt . But you are right he was coaching the guys he had as good as Stoops.

Yeah but Joker went to a bowl! With a 6-6 team. Most teams in D-1 football go to bowl games.

Let Stoops turn in another losing season, and see what recruits want to come to a program getting beat by 40 every game.
Probably the same kind of recruits Joker got, without all the resources Stoops has been given, which Joker never had.

Never said I wish we kept Joker. Just tired of them using Joker as the reason for still losing, worse than ever, going into his 4th season. First it was Joker, now it is his players.
He is running out of excuses.

Given that Johnson is were we are hanging all of our hopes of wining this game, I’ll go with he gets injured on the third drive of the game and Gunner Hoak pulls out the win with a performance like 36/58 and 450 yds passing. Then the next week we all talk about how great Gunner hoak was in his first SEC start and how he’s going to save the season for us by scoring 75 points a game and nullifying our inept defense. Because really, that’s what UK football has been for the last 10 years: one big disappointment after another and occasionally someone else stepping up for one big game win and then disappearing for the rest of the season. You can all tell I’m at optimist at heart, right?

It will always be 50/50 with half empty/half full people in this state, country, and the world. I am a half full kinda guy bc I believe the cup is half full if you just recently poured something into it. If we as fans keep pouring our support into this team AND ITS COACHES, our glass is only half full. If I were Chester that would of been what I said to Darryl at the last minute of the debate. To you all, be positive, and rely on the fact that we still have basketball.
