Stoops says the offense will move faster than at any point last season

Happy Stoops is happy

Happy Stoops is happy

Mark Stoops wasn’t scheduled to talk to the media today, but must have been in a really good mood, because he came over and said a few things anyways. Stoops said that the team had a great practice today and he anticipates the offense will move faster on Saturday than it did all last season. “I think we’ll be much faster week one this year than we were at any point last year,” Stoops said. Neal Brown agreed, and said keeping things simple is key.

Nick will be by a bit later with a full recap.

I like the picture of Coach smiling. Hope has reason to smile a lot, this season. Go Cats!

In before the haters come in shouting “well that won’t be hard to accomplish.”

On a serious note, I haven’t been this excited about UK football since 2007.

UL will be 6-6 at best this year against good talent so if they want to brag about being a 500 football team let them look as stupid as they really are.

Faster than at any point last year is still 3 steps slower than all the SEC defenses.

Candy seems to be taking a few steps down, so there is that. Plus we should compete with MSST, and Mizzou (eventually Mizzou)

Hey idiot…when Stoops mentions “speed” in this context, he is referring to the pace of the offensive series…not the speed of the players.

You can run the fastest offense in college football but unless the defense gets the ball back it really won’t matter.
Three and outs. as we saw last year, doesn’t result in scoring. Simply giving the ball back to the opponents.
    We’re fixed!

This guy ^, he’s got all of the answers.

Apparently, three and outs are not a great strategy for success! Who knew! Maybe with better talent, like what we’ve gotten, that should improve. It takes a little longer than a year and a half, which I’m sure Tom is FULLY aware of, but it should be exciting to see the progress going forward.

are you older than 35? That’s the length of time since the Cats have won more SEC games in a season than they lost. Just thirty five years.
If we can’t take a big step in that many years, maybe we too should be in the OVC.
You koolaid drinkers need to look at where we are compared to the rest of the conference.

I’m willing to wait to see where we are at the end of the 2015 season compared to the rest of the SEC. If there is no reasonable progress, I will stop drinking the blur koolaid at that time.

Blue koolaid…not blur koolaid. Although some will say it is blur koolaid…LOL.

What exactly is your point Tom? We get it. For the love of all things holy we get it!!! You wanted Petrino and you didn’t get him so now you’ve put your Fellowship of the Miserable cap on and won’t be happy unless you’re unhappy. We all know the history of the football program. You aren’t telling anyone anything they don’t know. Why don’t you go back to making your family’s life a living hell and leave BBN alone. It’s tiring. It’s tedious. It’s too much. Go away happy. Go away mad. Above all have pity on us all and just go away. Fricking frack do you have a single friend in this universe?! I can’t imagine you do. That being the case maybe we should have some compassion for you. Here’s some help: if you’re interested in what it is that makes everyone dislike you find a big, flat, reflective surface. Sheesh will you please just go away. Did I mention scram?! Damnit take a hike. Scatter. Take a powder. Move along. Fly, fly, fly. Fly, fly, fly…

    Aw, shucks,
Seems you are comfortable with being the doormat to SEC football.
    And why shouldn’t we be.
Speaking of Petrino, no way we would hire him. Us being the moral standard of the coaching world.
Winning in football isn’t important at Lexington.
Just find a diversion to fill in until October 15th. Then we can forget about anything but Cal’s program.
Me going away, don’t think so. Someone has to remind you koolaid drinkers we actually should find an athletic director who wants a competitive football team. One that doesn’t hire a ‘name’ instead of someone actually a winning, successful coach.
But again, thanks for the comments.
