Before he takes the main stage at SEC Media Days, Mark Stoops fielded questions from the media in a hallway in front of two large paintings. And it didn’t take long for someone to ask him if the goal for 2015 is to reach a bowl game.
“Progress needs to be made,” Stoops said of the upcoming season’s ultimate goal. “One more game would certainly be progress and that would put us in a bowl game.”
“I’m not going to take that away from the players,” he added, addressing the bowl game talk. “As long as we stay with day-to-day approach.”
Offensive lineman Jordan Swindle said he wants to do better than six regular season wins and a bowl appearance.
“That’s my minimum bar,” said Swindle.
He admitted the players talk about a postseason appearance all the time.
More to come when Stoops hits the podium shortly…
