Stoops didn’t give a pregame locker room speech

For the first time in his head coaching career, Mark Stoops did not address the team in the locker room prior to taking the field against Louisville.
Because he didn’t need to.
Stoops told KSR he stood on his chair in the center of the room, as he does every Saturday, but the players were so fired up, he didn’t have to say a word.
“They were playing some music and they were so jacked up and ready to go, that I honestly… They were singing songs and the song turned off, and I just pointed — I didn’t even talk to them. That’s how jacked up and how ready they were to play. So that’s the first time that’s ever happened… There was a belief that they were going to go out there and take care of business.”
Yeah, I’d say they were pretty ready.
