Cole Cubelic is more than the wagon that carries Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers every fall Saturday night on the SEC Network; the man knows a lot about college football, especially those big guys on the offensive line, his old spot on the field. And one of Cubelic’s favorite offensive linemen to watch is none other than Logan Stenberg, a former Kentucky Wildcat who will soon hear his name called on draft night.

Cubelic’s admiration of Stenberg came up earlier this week on the “Stanford Steve & The Bear” podcast, a popular gambling podcast from ESPN. With nothing to bet on, Stanford Steve Coffman and Chris “The Bear” Fallica interviewed Cubelic about the NFL Draft and many of its prospects, including Stenberg,

When asked to name a player he loves outside the first or second round, Cubelic told the show, “I’m going to go Logan Stenberg, offensive guard out of Kentucky. I think he’s still probably a, maybe, Day 2 (or) Day 3 guard. He’s a little bit stiff, but you talk about a guy that finishes, that plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played, that brings attitude — like he will change the demeanor of your offensive line. I think he can change the demeanor of your offense if he’s good enough to be inside your system and playing every down.

“You go watch the film of Logan — hell they had to yank him a couple times because he was doing too much. Stoops told me he pulled him and had multiple conversations with the kid like, ‘hey buddy, you’ve gotta calm down. We can’t take anymore penalties.’ But that’s his nature, that’s his demeanor.

“He’s told me stories about how his mom would tell him as a kid, ‘The only way to not get beat up is to beat up the person trying to beat you up.’ That’s who he is! I love watching him play. He’s not near as physically gifted as a lot of the other offensive linemen in this draft, but he makes up for it with style of play and nasty and he is a lot of fun to watch.”
